It's a few miles from my job. And I couldnt have been happier to do business with them.

I've done a few transfers there. No judging, no problems about asking about their inventory.
Had quite a laugh at his giant mortar.

Big fan of OC Armory here. VERY knowledgeable and helpful crew. All they need is a potbellied stove and a cracker barrel and I'd never leave....lol

Ive always appreciated and enjoyed doing (and sending) business with the OCA crew - However I was informed yesterday that since I have an FFL (inactive - I've never even set up an account. Simply wanted to get it now for future use in AZ before some political hack made them unobtainable) - My business is no longer wanted.

Mike made it very clear he didn't want FFL holders to use OCA for transfers.

No worries - Its their shop and I respect their choice...

Hmmm, I cannot seem to figure out what the logic for that would be, both from a legal or a possible competitive standpoint. I'm sure he has a reason for saying this, but for the life of me I cannot think of why. Now I'm curious.

He stated he was tired of FFL holders using him to do transfers. His position is if you are able to do your own - You should.

Not saying I disagree with him. And he's right to a point - It's a lot of work to make $10.

But I told him mine is inactive - Hell - I've paid them to do work for me - I've always spent a little more with them as opposed to buying online - And even referred MANY people into the shop for purchases - I even bought the store lunch one day after an SSE...

In fact they just sold 4 or 5 firearms on consignment for a friend of mine.

Look - It's his store - His rules.

Disappointing - I thought we worked great together - But that's the way it is...

I would have to say and contribute...
The staff and owner at OC Armory are great to work with. I have purchased many things from them and they continue to be honest, great prices, and always customer driven. I highly recommend them.

I love OC Armory. Have purchased guns from them and had them do out of state transfers. All transactions were 100% great.

How much is .223 at OC armory? I live in Irvine, at turners it's about 10.99 for 20 rounds. Is it any cheaper at OC?

You can always ask them to order you something.

I asked Patrick to order me a Sig P220 with contrast sights last Friday. I got a a great OTD price from them as usual, cheaper than any of the online prices after fees. I should be able to DROS tomorrow or Wednesday.

Unless they are crowded Patrick or Mike can check their distributor's stock online and give you a price right there.

I DROS'ed my P220 yesterday and while I was there I saw a brand new M&P Shield 9. I picked up and minutes later I paid for the thing. Joe told me they only had it in the case for 15 minutes. The gun feels so great in my hands. I can't wait to DROS it.

Emailed them on April 9th per this conversation, not a word back. Weird that they wouldn't follow up on business.

Normal response is a couple of days when they're actually there. Sounds like they either didn't get it or got too many and can't get through them all.

Suggest you call the store if you have something urgent or important - they always answer the phone.

Did a FTF transfer at OC Armory this week. Also picked up a B.A.D lever, Raddlock and an OCA t shirt. Even if these guys were not down the street from me I would still make them my go to store. Everyone there is top notch, I just hope when they outgrow this location they don't go far.

Mike and the guys at OC Armory have helped me out numerous time if Mike can't fix it, he knows someone who can.
After having him fix something for me a few times, and he said no charge I started giving him payment. Need to support him. I've purchased a pistol from him this year, and it went really well.
Please support these guys, they are a great asset to our community.

Talking OC Armory - consistently a great shop

I've been dealing with OC Armory for years now and have bought, sold, and transferred a few dozen guns through them, they have always been helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. They are everything you expect from a quality operation.

I dealt with mass merchants in the past, and other gun stores before finding OCA and just got sick of being fed misinformation, complete b.s. stories and ignorance at other shops. Mike, Joe, and crew are no b.s. kind of guys, the type you want to rely on and go back to.

Ive dealt with them for years and they have always been the guys that I refer people to. Unfortunately, the last couple times I was in there they were pretty rude. Riflegear is good but a little distance from south OC and now Turners I will have to try out. Its unfortunate as I would prefer to help out the small shops over any larger organizations.

Yep. Losing customers left and right. A shame really. I won't ever be going back, there are way too many competitors that are better.

Even turners does a better job. Last time my customer service guy was a former LEO. Just outstanding, super helpful, and super knowledgeable.

LOL
Riflegear is good, but WAAYY to busy sometimes. At least they have chairs and a bathroom since the remodel. Turners takes an hour+ to do a PPT, and wouldn't even consider Turners for an FFL transfer (if they'll even do it), and if you got somebody at Turners that was knowledgeable you should have also bought a lottery ticket.
OCA is consistently the quickest trouble free transfer, and Mike knows his stuff.

I took a rifle into this shop to have them press out the front sight. The guy (I think its Mike) did it on the spot and then refused to charge me for it.

So the next time I got an out of state transfer I did it at OC Armory. No complaints, except that when I went in to do the transfer I found something shiny in the case that caught my eye. So that was a very expensive transfer. Ha ha.
