CGSSA On Target Shoot 11/14/14
Greetings all. Our next Calguns shoot is coming up. We will have the usual rifle and pistol contests with new t-shirt prizes.
ALSO: I am pleased to announce that yours truly and Alex (Engi) have completed our training with the NRA to become NRA Certified Pistol Instructors. So..... We will be pleased to offer "certified" new shooter pistol training - so please feel free to bring new shooters as guests. - ALSO, we may begin helping our members shoot to attain NRA recognized shooting ranks. Please post, PM or see me for details. RIFLE CARDS - I know a lot of you are looking to obtain or renew your Rifle Cards with On Target. I will beseech Charlie to hold a class this month if possible. Please post or PM me so I can gauge the interest levels. (now the details) Please review the following details pertaining to the meet: Date: 11/14/14 Time: 6:30 to 8:30 (diner to follow) Pistols - no double taps, no drawing from holster (standard indoor range safety precautions) Rifles - rifle permit REQUIRED (pistol calibers are exempt), can be had by attending a rifle permit class on Sunday mornings @ 10AM, anything less than 338 Lapua is good to go. . . and yes, ARs/AKs are welcome! Shotguns (NEW POLICY IN PLACE!) - minimum distance is 7-yard line, and ONLY slugshot sold at the range will be allowed for use. Brass Recovery (since there seems to be confusion) - Let the staff know you are recovering your own brass, and clean up your area before you start so you do not mistakenly pick up other people's brass. Cost - $5, stay and shoot as long as you want! REMINDER: - Please police after yourselves at the range. On Target has been gracious enough to grant several concessions to make this event a success month after month. We should return the courtesy when utilizing their facilities, and take responsibility for our actions. . . after all, we do want to portray Calgunners as responsible gun owners, right? If we find that you hit a hanger, we will make sure the staff is aware. . . NO EXCEPTIONS! I want feedback from the attendees. . . do y'all want All you can eat Korean BBQ, Sushi, or hotpot? Sound off and let your opinion be heard! If you are planning on attending, please vote and/or respond to the thread so we have a good headcount. NOTE: A rifle card is REQUIRED to shoot AR/AK pistols. |

I'll be bringing an sp01 and a rami. The SP01 is already on the doj list (if you can find one) but the rami is not.

Damn guys, that was a lot of fun. If I lived closer and the traffic wasn't so brutal I would be there every month. Thanks King Kong for letting me put so many rounds through the Sphinx and CZsp01. Thank you to the gentleman with the steyr M9A1 (sorry I don't remember your name). Thank you gearshifter for letting me shoot your 1911. And thank you Dave for organizing the shoot and letting me try your RPK and beastly magnum (what was the name and caliber of that pistol?) That was definitely worth driving up in Friday traffic!

The most fun 2 hours I have every month. I always appreciate how friendly everyone is, my wife is still fairly new to firearms so that really helps make her feel comfortable and want to keep shooting. She finally worked up the nerve to shoot David's grenade launcher but it was already packed so she wants a rematch next month.
Got some video of me shooting the pocket cannon. Hey David is this on your CCW list? . Last edited by Nexus134; 11-15-2014 at 6:01 AM.. |
