Default CGSSA South OC On Target Shoot (4/10/15)

RIFLE CARDS - I know a lot of you are looking to obtain or renew your Rifle Cards with On Target. I will beseech Charlie to hold a class this month if possible. Please post or PM me so I can gauge the interest levels.

(now the details)
Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:
Date: 4/10/15
Time: 6:30 to 8:30 (dinner to follow)

Pistols - no double taps, no drawing from holster (standard indoor range safety precautions)
Rifles - rifle permit REQUIRED (pistol calibers are exempt), can be had by attending a rifle permit class on Sunday mornings @ 10AM, anything less than 338 Lapua is good to go. . . and yes, ARs/AKs are welcome!
Shotguns - minimum distance is 7-yard line, and ONLY slugshot sold at the range will be allowed for use.
Brass Recovery (since there seems to be confusion) - Let the staff know you are recovering your own brass, and clean up your area before you start so you do not mistakenly pick up other people's brass.
Cost - $5, stay and shoot as long as you want!

REMINDER: - Please police after yourselves at the range. On Target has been gracious enough to grant several concessions to make this event a success month after month. We should return the courtesy when utilizing their facilities, and take responsibility for our actions. . . after all, we do want to portray Calgunners as responsible gun owners, right? If we find that you hit a hanger, we will make sure the staff is aware. . . NO EXCEPTIONS!

I want feedback from the attendees. . . do y'all want All you can eat Korean BBQ, Sushi, or hotpot? Sound off and let your opinion be heard!

If you are planning on attending, please vote and/or respond to the thread so we have a good headcount.

NOTE: A rifle card is REQUIRED to shoot AR/AK pistols.

Saugustine will be joining you all for the first time. Normally I have another commitment on Friday nights but am free on the 10th.

Oh and I'd be interested in the rifle card class too. Sunday mornings don't work for me.

Count me in! I also got my self a glock. Would appreciate if someone can show me how to switch out the stock sights for the trijicons.

On a side note, I'm interested in getting the rifle card as well.

Well, if you ask me, you'd take those sights, slide the POS gun out from under them, and remount them on a GOOD pistol. (lol)

Your best bet is JohnP but the chances that he is allowed out of house is extremely low.

Great to have you. Please be sure to introduce yourself to me. As always, if you're looking to shoot something special, please let us know- often one of us has it.

this will be my second visit and CAL.BAR and the group are full of good folks. He's not kidding about requesting to shoot something special. I got to shoot an 1911, S&W M&P, 2 Glocks, 1 Uzi, 1 Ruger mark III, and an H&K MP5, and almost an AR15 (ran out of time).

I've shot through a college course (handgun and trap and skeet) a few years ago, but my first outing with this group finally motivated me to buy my first pistol. I think i just picked up an expensive new hobby/addiction?

That said, can I shoot someone's AR?

Thanks for setting this up. I wanted to go last time but I had a conflicting schedule. I'll be bringing my 1911, 92FS and AR-15.
Anyone got an HK P30 or Glock 17 or 19 they're willing to let me try?

I hear ya. After buying my first pistol, I kept shopping for more. Even went ahead and built an AR carbine and now I'm shopping for parts for a DMR and an AR pistol.

You can shoot my AR, as long as the trigger decides to behave.

I always bring my HK45 which is essentially the "big boy" version of the P30.

AR? Lol, that's like asking to drive a VOLKSWAGEN.. Sure, everyone has one. Yes, they are all different, but... seriously, ask for something hard. (think I'll bring my belt fed RPD)

Folks, we have been given a generous gift by Batman (Jason). A free pass for two to ON Target (a $25.00 value). I'd like to raffle this off either on the 10th (if we have enough people) or next month.

Well since you are asking for a challenge, do you have anything in the 50 kilowatt range?

As I recall, the preferred weapon was a "phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range", but.... we're fresh out of those. But we can do considerably better than a Glock in terms of unique firearms for our members to try.

Anyone bringing a pistol with a quality red dot sight on it? I'd like to see the difference between a quality sight and my cheapo red dot sight.

My sister and I won't be able to make it tonight. We're both sick. I'm bummed because it is one of the few free Friday nights when I'll be able to make it to shoot with you all. Looking forward to the next time I am free on the third Friday of the month.

Please remove saugustine +guest for tonight.

Ok, I got some rest and I am feeling much better. Add me back in, if it's not too late.

Also, I have 3ea 50 rd boxes of Armscor .38 Super ammo that I purchased a while back by accident. Anyone interested in buying them? I'll bring them with me just in case.
