They'll check weapons and ammo for sure, did they already check your ammo you were bringing in and then wanted to look at your range bag after the fact?

With that fact out of the way, I'm glad I'm close to OnTarget, no bag check BS and I can shoot any ammo I want. |

I shoot at The Firing Line in Huntington Beach and i pay 150.00 for an Individual. I cant see paying 250 for an individual at other place and use the money i saved on ammo. I have no gripes about Firing line as a matter a fact there's plenty of lanes during the week to shoot.

I go to Field Time even though it's a much longer commute. Totally worth it in my mind. The benches have a lot more space to place my stuff. The target retriever is digital and programmable. You are allowed to pickup your own brass without having to go through the trouble of marking every single one of your brass cases. Lastly, the staff is a lot cooler. I like the old guy that is the range officer. We talk a lot when he is around.

I like The Firing Line in Huntington. 99 bucks for active duty or retired is a nice discount off of membership. Plus its 5 min from my house.
I also like On Target. I want to check out Field Time.

I used to go to Evans, and it was okay. Then I drove the extra distance to Field Time and won't ever go back to Evans. Very nice range, very wide stalls, programmable target system for different distances, just all around nice place. Yes, they will check your guns before going in and your ammo to see what you are shooting, but that is not an issue for me.

I have been a member at Evan's for many years. I've always enjoyed shooting there.
FT3 (or "Field Time" as people are still calling it) in Stanton is a really nice range. The best in OC. I've been about 4-5 times now, and never had any issues. A great range, friendly staff. I haven't shot at On Target in years, but recently drove down there from Yorba Linda to do a PPT and was told "oh it's slow, we're closing early, we aren't doing your PPT". I drove all that way for nothing. I will never go back. The range in Brea is anti-CCW and made me disarm before coming in (with a valid CA CCW). This was to do a PPT, merely entering the building not entering the range with a holstered weapon. It blew my mind. And they're selling these little painted pro-RKBA signs in the shop area while telling CCW holders to disarm before entering. The hypocrisy was incredible. I will never go back. |
