Default limit on a private party transfer per month?

Is there a limit on the number of handguns and rifiles on a private party transfer in one month period or at a time?

Whats is the code section if any?

It's a City Ordinance within the City of Los Angeles only. (I think Sacramento might have one too) It's a handgun only 1-a-month limit.

The City of Los Angeles, however, has ordinance "SEC. 55.14. SALE OR PURCHASE OF MORE THAN ONE HANDGUN WITHIN A THIRTY DAY PERIOD PROHIBITED." from March of 1999. It substantially mirrors the state law, but does NOT have the exemption for Private Party Transfers. Because it falls outside the state preemptions regarding gun laws in Government Code, it is presumptively legal.

Orange County is fine, anywhere outside the city limits of Los Angeles is fine as well. The Reseda Turner's Outdoorsman (Reseda is within LA City limits) routinely sends customers to Pasadena Turner's and West Covina Turner's for this reason.

If you're doing that many PPT's call the store and make an appointment to go in on a slower sales day, you are in for a long wait if you go in on a busy day.

5 transactions for the seller, that doesn't cover purchases. Correct?

It applies to.....

Penal Code 26500
(a) No person shall sell, lease, or transfer firearms unless the person has been issued a license pursuant to Article 1 (commencing with Section 26700) and Article 2 (commencing with Section 26800) of Chapter 2.
(b) Any person violating this article is guilty of a misdemeanor.
Although transfer is a bit ambiguous, it appears it just applies to sellers.

U can do 3 at the same time. Starting this year u can mix long n handguns.

U can even buy a gun from the dealer and also ppt at the same time for one payment of $35. It wont go on the same DROS but they will only do 1 background check.

I recently did this at riflegear.
