Default Are you a member of the NRA?

If you're not, you should be...

It's OK that you don't always agree with their position, or the their tactics. I know that I don't, and I know that most of us will admit that the whole "The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a guy, is a good guy with a gun" was not the most well thought out PR message either. But, the truth is, they are the largest lobbying body, not only for gun rights, but the largest lobbying body in the US today. Not only that, but they have been fighting for our gun rights since 1871; and this year (2013) especially in California we are in for the fight of our lives, and we'll only be able to beat this together.

So if you're not an NRA member, but would like to join, we're going to make it that much easier for you. You'll be able to sign-up right there on the spot at one of our shooting events for the discounted annual rate of $25. And, you'll get a black and gold NRA hat to boot. If you're already a member, don't feel left out, because we can renew your membership as well.

There are many options available for joining (annual, multi-year, life, ...) for joining, and you'll get all of the following benefits:
  • 24/7 defense of your firearm freedoms
  • Legislative Updates
  • Subscription to an NRA Magazine *Like American Rifleman
  • $2500 in ArmsCare firearms insurance
  • $5000 Life & Accidental Insurance ($10K for Life Members)
  • NRA Shooters Cap, membership card, and decal
  • Invitations to "Friends of NRA" events
  • No Annual Fee Visa Card
  • Special Savings at SavingUSA.com
  • Discounts at over 6K hotels and motels nationwide
  • Access to NRAs hunting, shooting, and safety programs

Pricing

1 Year - $35 $25
3 Year - $85
5 Year - $125
Junior (<=18Yrs) *For the kiddies
Associate $10 (No Magazine)
Life Membership
- Reg. $1K
- Jr. $550
- Distinguished $375 (65+)
*You can pay it all in a lump some or select EPL ($25 down, and $25 per quarter until paid for).

100% of any recruiting commissions generated by memberships sold at one of our events will be donated to the CGSSA.

*Cash, Checks, and All Major Credit Cards accepted.

What has the NRA done for us in CA? What are they doing with the laws that are going to pass? What have they done for New York?

Joined the NRA when I bought my first gun. Will be a member for life.
They have done a lot for America, which matter more to me than California. California is a lost cause, because we are keep voting in the same polititians every election and expecting the state change.

You must be out of california, sir.

Read these link to find out how NRA, together with CA gun groups are fighting your Democrat's politicians currently in office in the Democratic People Republic of Kalipornia.

The NRA has a full time lobbyist in CA. I believe that is their only full time state lobbyist in any state. The NRA has beat or helped to beat some laws in court, (SF housing ban, SF hand gun ban, CA internet ammo ordering ban) they got a kid reinstated who was expelled for having his hunting shot gun legally in his truck off of school grounds, they got us work arounds inserted to bad laws like the hand gun roster, they helped to limit as much as possible the lead ammo bans due to the condor zones, and some more that I am too lazy to think of now.

The NRA did this in a with a state government who puts much effort into destroying our rights while millions of freeloading California gun owners sit in the proverbial wagon as a few of us pull their fat @$$(# up the hill.

Join the fight.

Lots of good points. We in Cali, have a culture here that has seen eras of gun violence by less than law abiding citizens. Insomuch as this has led to a lack of understanding and ostensibly a population that can only associate gun ownership with violence and nefariousness behavior.

IMHO, we as gun owners can mitigate the lack of misunderstand by doing what Ted tried to do with that hack Pierce Morgan, educate them taking them shooting and explaining to them that firearms and not machines of sadist, apropos a tool for self defense against all those that wish to deprive you of your rights.

I'm an NRA Life member. But have yet to purchase my own pistol or rifle. At the back of my car, it has the "NRA Supports our Troops" magnet bumper and an NRA license plate frame.

So far no one has thrown eggs/etc at me or someone purposely damaging my car.

Don't always agree with their position but, they are the biggest dog I can have in this fight so yes, I became a member this year. I also think we would have lost many of our rights a long time ago without them.

Yes. Been a member since the early 1970's, when I was a teenager.

I renew my membership on a year-to-year basis, so that the NRA actually gets more of my money than if I joined as a Life Member.

Typically an annual membership expires a year after you started it, or expires on that date in succeeding years if you choose to join for multiple years; for example expiration three years from now if you join now and choose the three year membership.

I started out as an annual member for a year or two, upgraded to Life, and in recent years upgraded to Benefactor Life. I am proud to be a member!

I hope you join at some level. And get involved in the fight for our rights as much as your time and money allow. Once our rights are gone it will be very difficult to ever get them back!

Being a member of the NRA Members Council of San Gabriel Valley I can tell you that the NRA is very involved in the Second Amendment fight here in California. There is a full time lobbyist who works very closely with the CRPA lobbyist. Top law firms such as Michel and Associates are constantly involved in litigation here in California. And many of the things that the NRA does are intentionally under the radar when that is the most effective approach.

The NRA truly is the largest gun rights organization in the USA. An NRA Board Member, Joel Friedman, has intimated on more than one occasion that we likely would effectively not have a Second Amendment if not for the likes of Wayne LaPierre and Chris Cox.

Insofar as legislative losses go I can only say that I know the NRA does not give up. I wish that the NRA was as all-powerful as its critics always assert!

So join the fight! There is strength in numbers. Become part of the oldest civil rights organization in the United States.

If you want more input and influence on what the NRA does then participate in your local Members Council, communicate with the organization, and go to the annual convention. The annual convention is outstanding and I recommend going to everyone!

As Eldridge Cleaver said "If you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem."

Good solid organization. I am a Patron Member and wish more people would join them instead of just complaining about them. I am also a volunteer for the foundation by working at about 6 Friends of the NRA dinner/fundraisers a year. The end of the year grant process is great because most of the money stays in the local community and is used directly for rebuilding ranges, purchasing equipment for organizations like the boy scouts and teaching women to shoot.

NRA thrives on anti gun legislation. Creates fear in the masses. The masses then throw $$$$ at NRA.

If you’re a gun owner you should definitely join the NRA or GOA and if you live in California there is The California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA) if every gun owner in America would join an organization like these we would have a much better chance at protecting the 2nd amendment

For the naysayers out there- obviously the NRA hasn't been as successful in defending our gun rights as we would like, but where do you think we as a nation would be if the NRA hadn't been fighting all these years. The NRA is the largest, most known gun rights organization we have. I don't agree with everything they do, but I certainly believe they have done the most of any organization to defend our 2nd ammendment rights. It baffles me that every gun owner in this country doesn't fork over the few bucks a year it takes to become a member, be counted, and lend support.
I have been a life member for at least a dozen years, I've gifted a couple memberships in the last year, and just renewed my girlfriend's membership this past weekend for another 5 years.
