Also, some might not think it’s a big deal -but just to show attention to detail on the Malcomar build...

Dave from Malcomar in the above post also talks about the ejection port flare that they put on the rifle.

The HMG built CETME L’s look to have been OK, but definitely not as nice as these.

HMG just left the ejection port as a flat hole in the receiver.

Atlantic sold those too-and one of the better pictures of the ejection port is in this below picture of an HMG gun from them in the past.

Zoom in on the ejection port you’ll see what I’m talking about.

https://goo.gl/images/1VYcxr

If you look at the HMG rifles that have been shot quite a bit ,you will notice that the receiver area behind the ejection port is pretty beat up from cases smacking the receiver and wearing through the Cerakote.

Check out the below link from an Armslister advertising his HMG CETME L rifle, and his creative use of Velcro tape behind the ejection port.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/mgm-content...etme_l_640.jpg

Then click the below link and zoom in on the Malcomar rifle and you will see the proper ejection port flair keeps cases off the receiver like it’s supposed to be.

I see what you saying about the ejection port.

But the welds are crap compared to the HMG. I think its fine to use a mig in this scenario, but those slugs are not the sign of a good welder...

The welding on the Marcolmar CETME L's was done by a robot welder. Much more precise and repeatable.

Lol...I’m sure the weld’s are solid.

Perhaps the Welds aren’t as “pretty.”

I’ll take a rifle with a proper ejection port, and that feeds properly from a mil-spec AR mag over pretty welds any day.

I don't know, But the H&M welds as depicted in the Atlantic add show holes in some of their welds. maybe from contaminated surfaces?

H&M welds.

Maybe... the HMG looks like it was tig welded by hand, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it has flaws.

The robot should be able to do some pretty mig pulse welds, not sure why they don’t put a little more effort into that. The welds stick out like sore thumbs, especially the glob above the mag release.

Just a friendly FYI for those that have not yet ordered one of these...

I spoke with Mary at Marcolmar (very nice woman) and she said that they are exploring options to have these rifles sent directly from their shop to CA as compliant guns. So you could place an order with them and not have to deal with a middleman and additional fees.

I’ll pass along any verified info as it becomes available.

As an update we will hopefully have the Grip wraps for the CETME L rifles in approx 2 weeks and be able to start shipping the rifles to CA dealers for transfers.

still waiting for the rifle, but Atlantic is working hard to make sure that as many of these get into CA as possible.

The black on black is tempting

Excellent!

Can’t wait to get mine.

That pic has me looking at red dot options for it as I don’t have one yet.

That appears to be an Aimpoint Pro with the Aimpoint stock mount that it ships with and with the middle riser/spacer removed?

Yes we’ve already decided we’re getting two rifles.

I do like the green on green because of originality.
But my son has claimed that one!

Which is fine, because I noticed my eyes keep gravitating to the black on black ones in pics.
It’s black on black for me.

unless they did a second darker shade of green, the furniture being provided is much lighter than how it's portrayed in that photo.

atlantic's photo is more true to the color of the Green furniture.

Yes I agree- that pic with that shade of green and the black metal looks best of all, but some rattle-canning or other coating would probably be required to get that look.

Lighting and computer monitors can Skew the color but the CETME L rifle green color is on the light side .

Hopefully Atlantic found something to put on there.

Munkeeboi might have found someone who will thread a brake to that thread.

But I think they do only aluminum brakes.

I can't find anything.

Only firearm I could find besides CETME L that has that thread is threaded CZ52 pistol barrels.

Too bad the P90 is 12x1L thread and not RH or we could use this adaptor.

https://www.cmmginc.com/product/thread-adapter-ps90/

I emailed hughes precision about an adapter but received no reply.

I'll give them a call.

I received their 15x1 to 5/8x24 adaptor for my PTR and it's pretty nice.

Looks like part of my brake now-but it's not deep enough to cover the barrel contours that are usually covered by the original FH so some may not like the looks.

Looking at the CETME L I think it would have the same issue.

I'd prefer a brake with the right thread.

HMG might be able to machine up something for the non flash hider states.

i thought that marcolmar was also looking into a non-flash hiding muzzle device for the Cetme L.

I think They or HMG can probably change up their CNC program for the existing flash hiders and maybe not cut all the way through so it won't have the prongs.

MarColMar will be releasing a copy of the FH, albeit with the slots uncut and only an opening up front large enough for the projectile. They’ll offer it on CA compliant rifles according to an email I received.

Do these have foreign parts in them or did they reverse engineer the entire platform?

they purchased about 10,000 kits, so I'm betting they want to use as many original parts as they can.

from another site, it seems like at least the receiver, barrel and furniture are US made
