You load it through the ejection port. It's not too much of a pain. I bought my PTR from Sportsman Safari on Gun Broker. http://www.gunsonthenet.com/Auction/...?Item=64645325 But I paid about $400 less. You can always email sellers on Gun Broker or Guns America to see if they will ship to CA. A lot won't but some will, you just have to put in some work. Good luck.

You're a candidate for some new "detachable mag with a tool" method, like the AR.

Holy crap. Is it that easy???

It looked like the rounds were just falling into place. Do you have some sort of mechanism like the Atlantic Arms AK, or is that just standard.

Thats amazing. Now i have to get one of those.

ETA: Nevermind, I just looked at your pics. Where did you get that mag??

On most of my AK's, if you just pull the bolt back, it will hang on the hammer and stay put. Although I wouln't keep my finger in the ejection port for too long. The ones that don't easily hang on the hammer, I just pull the trigger while the bolt is pulled back. When the hammer falls, it will lock the bolt back. If you don't want to use either method just buy the safety lever with the notch cut out of it to keep the bolt locked back by catching the charging handle.

Smile She's ugly but she's mine ;)

The rifle is much handier and the AMD sling works very nicely!
Also cold blued the bolt carrier and matched the rest of the rifle really well.
