Here is my contribution to the KSG guys looking at various setups to get an idea of what they want.

I think that was a problem with the GEN1 sights, the GEN2 sights are very sturdy. There are also a ton of counterfeit and airsoft MBUS sights out there that may be contributing to reports. The recoil impulse will draw the sight towards the open position so I can't imagine any problems on properly installed GEN2 sights.

Uhhhhh no. Been running MBUS since I got me. 75 rounds this weekend alone (slugs, birdshot, OO). Never had this issue. Also, long time member on KTOG in the KSG area... I cannot even ever recall reading that as an issue. Lot's of issues I read about, that was never one.

When it comes to shotguns I am all about KISS. Larue/PRI sight set and Magpul RFG with some rail covers. Going to get an XS big dot for the front sight post and figure out some way to interface my single point sling. Otherwise its most likely going to stay as is.

I put the XS Big Dot post in my MBUS on my KSG - I love it, one of the best mods I could do. For close in shots I don't even raise the rear sight - it is just pure bead work off the XS big dot. And at night it really glows.





I also went with a low profile offset mount for a TLR4 laser/light combo. I can turn it on or off with my thumb or the knuckle of my forefinger while my hand is wrapped around the foregrip. The low profile offset mount does not interfere with my grip at all - it is barely thicker than a rail cover.

Monitor that light. Depending how often you shoot/round count. I don't see that light surviving the recoil for long

For all you guys using VFGs on your KSGs please be very careful. There have been cases of the grip breaking or the rail itself breaking, and the shooters hand being shot.

Want to hop back in this before the thread completely necros. Ended up changing the set up a bit and I think I like the outcome. Got rid of the VG and added a light on the top rail (tried it on the bottom but didn't like it). Bought the button sling attachment point and threw in an Eotech for good measure. Kept the XS Big Dot and moved it to the MBUS with no rear since I would already be looking through the Eotech and can just pop it up in a hurry and use it like a front bead.

The issues tended to be people using airsoft quality vertical grips and the grips snapped off i believe.

Sweet setups. Have the issues been worked out of the ksg's? I've read or seen videos that showed some problems with early production runs.

I think they have pretty much worked out all the bugs. Mine ran great, but I recently had to part ways with it. Any of the newer ones should be fine. The video from Shot Show looked like there may even be some improvements to the next group. What caught my eye was the top rail didn't look quite so pathetic.
