Guys the best tool to use with the solar lock is our mag mounted tool we have had out since the lock came out. We just upgraded the tip design to a more solid/faster setup.

Just finished mine tonight.
She's a lathed, and cut Yugo M-70 barrel with Romanian underfolder rear trunnion, and Egyptian front end parts with a home modified UTG quad rail on a bent flat.
Dropped in a Tapco G2 double hook (I like the pull of them), mounted a Hogue grip over an old AR-15 stock sling mount screwed into the base of the receiver. Built my own mag lock based on the jumbopanda design. Installed Bulgarian FSB/GB combo, and 4 piece FH.

(trying to use up most of the spare parts I had laying around from other builds)
[Updated Pic]

Shoots great for a pistol built using parts from USA, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Egypt, and Romania.

Currently bending up, and welding an extension piece to a Yugo dust cover to make it long enough to use on my pressed flat, and replace the Egyptian one with it.

Thanks, man! Welcome to Calguns and feel free to ask any questions you might have!

I don't have any new photos to add, but since this is a picture thread I'll throw up an oldie!

I have a question, is anyone else having problems with their draco and this mag lock? I find it way too hard to remove the mag and I don't think I can do it with a bullet. mag release lever doesn't go all the way because the mag lock gets in the way, had to use the short part of an L wrench to release the mag and even then it's a bit of a hassle

Because of this thread, i have totally abandoned plans to convert my Saiga and instead SELL it and buy an on sale Draco from Peach State guns.... sigh.

Some seriously nice ak pistols here, its like there was this whole new world that just opened to me... Hope some of you dont mind if I emulate your builds :S
Posting pics to this awesome thread when I get mine!

If I buy a ak pistol here in cali and I move to Arizona would I be able to add a folding stock to it? After paying the sbr tax of course. What would I need to do in order to add a stock to it?

Shot this pic of my Draco this afternoon; what a fun "little" gun to shoot!

I was taking some pictures of vintage S&W's and threw this up there...it looks just...wrong on the backdrop, but oh well.

That looks really nice...
Can you still use the Irons if you remove the optic?

Looks almost like
http://www.scoutscopes.com/

But not as bulky
I like it

69Mach1 - If you gimme a box of 762x39 I'll tell ya

Baron - Yea I didnt like that bulky scout scopes deal. Looks goofy. Take complete place of the rear leaf. No irons. Which is completely ok with me.

Now just to take it to the range and test her out

How well does that handguard hold up to barrel heat? Does it have a metal heat shield?

Fired this one this past Thursday. 150 rds. Shot great, seemed louder than my SAR-1 and one hell of a fire ball. LOL

I'm interested in that mount also and would like more details...who makes it and where can we get one? Looks like a better/lower profile option than the Samson mount and hopefully cheaper

I just took one of the Solar tactical BB tools and attatched it to my mags, that way I can drop the empty mag with the one thats replacing it. Works really well, as long as your BB has an elongated oval.

My Draco, with some cheap laminated furniture.
