Default LA C3 Monthly Shoot 06/12; 7PM @ LAX Firing Range (Inglewood)

Hello Everyone!

It's that time again, time for the monthly W. LA shoot @ LAX Range!
Raffle tickets, check!
Date/Time confirmed, check!
Rrumor has it I will be bringing a big-bore AR to the event as well! (Hello, .50 Beowulf!)

I'll see you guys on the range!

- HappyCamper781/Jeremy

****

Join us at LAX Firing Range (not the airport) in Inglewood (927 West Manchester Blvd, Inglewood) on 06/12/2013 @ 7:00 PM. We're excited to team up with LAX, and they in turn have extended a discount of 10% off any in store factory ammunition not already discounted to all Calgunners.

Parking is limited, but don't fret parking is allowed at the car wash next door after hours, and there are always the lovely "safe" streets of Inglewood.

The Raffle:
Don't forget to get yourself a raffle ticket for our Glock Raffle! The drawing will be held at the last shoot of the year held at the Firing Line in Burbank. NO make-up tickets will be given, so ask me for one when you see me!

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - High Powered Rifles up to a 50 BMG are permitted with the use of range ammunition..
Shotguns - Shotguns are also permitted, again, only with the use of range ammunition.
Cost - $10.00, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on factory ammo and rentals.
** LAX members are free to attend.
*** If you've never been to LAX you'll need to purchase a shooting card for $2. This is a one time fee for new (to the range shooters).

REMINDER: - When you're there, your actions represent the entire Calguns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect.

They'll be reserving several lanes for us on their main range, but we will have to share the range with other walk on shooters. If there are others present, I urge you to engage them in conversations about Calguns, and why you choose to attend these types of events. They have a huge "pro shop" with tons of items available for purchase as well as a couch and multiple TVs.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Wednesday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

P.S. If you're interested in volunteering your time and helping coordinate this shoot, or one like it in your area, contact myself or RoundEye for details.

All are welcome! Nominal time for the event is 7:00pm - 10:00pm (range close), and a few of us die-hards head to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles for a late night dinner after!

If I can make it, I will be late. My niece is graduating HS Wednesday @ 5 PM. I think there are over 700 in her class, then we're going out to dinner, so I might be able to make it by 9 PM or so. If I'm later, I'll be ready for some waffles at Roscoe's.

Anyone have an H&K HK45c or P2000SK they can bring? I'm interested in buying one later this year and like to check it out in action.

I'll have my AR rifle and pistol lowers, as well as my varied AR rifle and pistol uppers there as well, and my Taurus PT92 9mm.

Count me in. This will be my first CG event as well, and I'm looking forward to meeting some folk, and to finally breaking in my 6920. Got it about a month ago, and still haven't had time to shoot it. Unless I get out to the LAX Firing Range today, that is...

How much does LAX Firing Range's ammo cost that's approved for shooting 5.56 (it's frangible?) at the range?

You'll be missed, Tripeaks.

Edwood, here's the pricing info:

Boxes of 50 .223 for $32.99 are in-stock.

**Out of stock** pricing for bulk reloads last week: (Subject to change)
5.56 500 for $369 1000 for $749.99
.223 200 for $159.99 1000 for $649.99

They SHOULD have another shipment of reloads ready by Wednesday night, but that's not a certainty. Pricing is not a certainty either (just got off the phone with em.)

Retail 55 grain loads are allowed. Last time I was there, they allowed Tula and Wolf steel cased bi-metal ammo for use on the range, as well.

I think I fixed my Luger's trigger reset problem, so I'll be bringing it by to test it out on the firing line.

WHAT WHAT WHAT?!

Seriously? Oh man. If that's indeed true, I will have to go to LAX Firing Range more often.

This isn't an outdoor range, and they allow up to .50 BMG, so it'd stand to reason that even bi-metal 5.56 wouldn't do much to their backstop.

Feel free to call them and ask, 310-568-1515, to be sure - but last couple times I was there, they were selling Tula and Wolf boxed ammo for range use - when you can't get anything else, the cheap stuff'll do, it seems.

But yes, LAX *IS* a kickass range, wish like hell it were closer to me.

I'm in if I can take my own .223 ammo. I'll call them later today to find out if not I'll still have my desert eagle and my 9mm.

I just spoke with someone at the range. He said all rifle and shotgun ammo must be purchased at the range. So I'll be there with my .50 AE and 9mm.

That sucks, but it explains why I saw Tula/Wolf being sold at / being used on the range.

I believe exceptions are made for rare / unavailable calibers (ones they do not stock) as well.

I shot there a few times by myself. They let me use my own ammo. New employee though held me up for a little bit. But since they stock the same ammo I have they let me use my own.

They are pretty chill with that sort of thing, surely not range-ammo-nazis.
