Question Constitution & Bill of Rights

Could someone please inform me how states like California can ignore the 2nd Amendment and pass laws that over ride or bypass the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Because Grandma Feinstein said it was this way; and when Grandma says it's that way; it stays that way.

I'll play devil's advocate here.

Where has California made it illegal to own a gun?

One of the reasons is that until 2010, the Federal Courts thought parts of the Constitution applied only against the Federal Government.

McDonald is supposed to teach them differently.

Ten round magazine limit is bald faced infringement in my book right along with neutered ARs and that idiot "safe" handgun roster, add to that local Sheriffs that will never issue CCWs for general self protection.

I'm fairly new here and came to find out the same thing. It appears as if states like California, and the federal government, can pass whatever constitution violating laws they want and these laws stay in place until and unless the supreme court rules that they are unconstitutional. And from what I gather here this process of challenging new laws takes many years. Doesn't seem fair.

It isn't fair, it's also not fair that a bunch of ignorant voters elected these leftist, constitutional trashing clowns in the first place.

Democracy sucks, a constitutional republic is much better.

Democracy: Two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for dinner.
Constitutional republic: Insuring that a vote like that doesn't take place.

it's good to hear someone is fighting behind the curtains for us. we do our best everyday to write our reps, so it's good to hear that someday it will pay off.

I know state law can be more strict than federal law but they shouldn't be unconstitutional.
