Default Would you guys call Dillon about this, or just polish it up and load?

Cracked open a brand new XL650 conversion kit tonight and the expander / funnel is pitted AF. See the pics below. Would you call Dillon and ask for a replacement or just polish this bad boy up load?

I would contact them and send them the photos. Was it purchased from them or someone that had it sitting around.

Call Dillon.

That's not worth repairing.

Definitely call! I’m in NorCal and although not the same issue, I’ve had a part problem and had a new one at my door 2 days after the call. If I were you I’d call first thing Monday A.M. and I would think that you would see a new one Wed/Thurs

Dillon is fantastic!

Even when I've called to buy a new part cuz I flubbed up the old one or broke it somehow, they told me that a new one is already on it's way, no charge. Even when I offer to pay for it, they've refused.

That's awesome.

I would definately call them. I've seen some with light rust and polished them up but that is about the worst I've seen. If you are in a rush to use it then once they have a replacement in the way chuck it in a drill and use a scotchbrite pad to clean it up and a small bore wire brush inside the funnel. With a bit of lube it would be usable again.

Why is this even a question? In the time it took you to create this thread, you could have called or emailed Dillon and had a new one on its way.

OK, well they're not open on the weekends but I'll definitely call on Monday :-)

Thanks everyone who replied.

Call. Roughing up the car neck can cause a reduction in accuracy, a smidge but still. A smooth powder funnel will contribute to more accurate powder drops.

For anyone interested in a follow up, I soaked this piece in white vinegar for a day and all of the brown 'rust' brushed right off. Same as new. Loaded 1400 rounds of 9mm with it and everything seems A-ok.
