Default Is the Glass factory open? Any other spots up there?

Planning a trip to lake Cachuma. Anyone know if the glass factory is open right now or if it will be in early September? Are there any other spots up there to shoot? Last time I camped at cachuma I heard gunshots in the background....

Anyplace else up by Cachuma? I heard gunshots up there when camping. Maybe someone shooting illegally?

Unfortunately with high fire danger most Los padres spots are closed, if you want to travel a bit I think Piru is still open and rose valley is still open but I think you need to be a member there.

Winchester gun club should be open, but its not free. $20 I believe.

Edit: I just checked, its $25 unless you are with a member, then its $20.

$5 for members at Winchester. I just checked the website because that is all i have been paying for the last 3 months, $5 each time.

I basically only joined Winchester to keep shooting, I am tired of them closing glass factory (I understand why they do it during fire season).

I prefer shooting at Glass Factory, i prefer a variety of targets at a variety of distances and the occasional satisfaction at seeing a beer can fly. Winchester is only paper targets at specified distances and for me the big one is that i can't shoot my hangun at the rifle range even though they are the same caliber so I end up bouncing from rifle to pistol and back. Because I can't shoot 45colt SAA at the rifle range even though my rifle is also 45colt, i will go back to glass factory when it re-opens and stop going to Winchester until the next close.

Basically the Glass Factory is closed until the drought is over or at least until we get a LOT of rain. This past season, they opened us for a few weeks, then closed us, then when we got some rain, they opened us for another couple of months. The weather forecast doesn't look good for the foreseeable future though, fingers crossed, I miss shooting up there.

We need to do another cleanup too.

We haven't received enough rain for Arroyo Burro to open at this point. Another 1-2" of rain would do the trick.
