I agree with that. I liked Eotech a lot and I will sorely miss having that reticle. Sad to see them go down like this. On the other side of that coin though, if they knowingly distributed faulty equipment to our troops....

I just checked the 2016 SHOT Show website and Eotech is listed as an exhibitor. That should be interesting.

That 1moa center dot on the reticle was my favorite feature , I could dim it on 200+ yard targets perfectly without covering it. I can't find anybody who has anything close to it

I also live in San Diego and had an EXPS2-0 on my rifle. I thought the same thing, "I don't live in extreme weather so it won't affect me". Long story short, I took my rifle out in December during that colder storm and noticed I was grouping everything far right at only 75 yards. I couldn't figure it out until I ran across this thread... I sent it back and bought a used ACOG TA31 on here for $800 with QD mt!

Not in combat just a retired from LE former Army. Have two a 512 & XPS 2-2. No issues but I'm in temperate southern California. No need to replace mine. I wanted to try Aimpoint so I used my own money to but the Pro.

Like I said, people are dramatizing this and making it more than it is.

The vast majority of you will never see an issue.

When the government wants to sue you, remember they have unlimited resources to tap... whether you can win or not, for a company that has been supplying optics to the government for a decade, a settlement of 27 mil is probably a lot cheaper than going into a drawn out battle in court.

I own MANY optics and have owned many more. Quite a few of them have failed, and I imagine quite a few more will. As long as customer service takes care of me I don't care.

Now, when I'm hiding in my salt water 0 degree swimming pool avoiding the zombies looking for me on a hot summers day and have to come out blasting, I'll probably say "AWW SHUCKS, shoulda used another optic... stupid Eotech".

I ask because if they eventually fixed the problem, I would give them a chance if their is some sort of serial range/year manufactured to avoid.

But if nothing has been fixed and they just include a disclaimer I see them pretty much just asking potential customers like myself to go to their competitors.
I believe I read that after they discovered the flaw they found that it was irreparable. Please don't quote me but that stuck in my mind when I considered if Eotech would ever return to its former market share.

Obviously no way to know if it was on target still. I can experiment with that next outing.

I'm glad when I wanted one I couldn't afford one. And when I could afford one my firearm interests had changed to something else. It's always hard for me to pull the trigger on a large purchase for some reason.

Thank You,

Gat the same email last night. Not sure what the review process entails, might be just checking the serial number with the previous email approval.

L-3 Communications has a net worth of over 10 billion dollars... I dont think this 26+ million dollars plus returns is going to bankrupt them...

So are you saying you filled out the form and then got the email stating that the refund was approved? If yes to that the email is your RMA, at least that's how mine was.

Like 97F1504RAD already said, you don't get an actual RMA number. Just put that email in the box with your sight and send it in!

The only ones that EVER win in a class action, are the lawyers.

Scum of the earth most of them are.
