I swear some of you sound like spoiled kids stomping your feet because youre not getting what you want. The SO is doing their best with all the applicants that they are processing. If you think I am referring to you then I most likely am.

For your appointment right? Yes 711 G St is where you want to go. At the front desk tell them you have a CCW appointment and a Sheriff will come down to escort you upstairs.

So far:

3/6/13: Appointment
3/15/13: Approval letter emailed

I was surprised to get the email so quickly. Faster than the 10 handgun wait. I get to head down to S. Sac tomorrow and pick up the 1911 I purchased right after I left my interview!

It's been a while since I sent her anything but this is what I used back then. If it isn't her current email, someone please let me know.

if your final appt is tomorrow, you'll have your permit in hand in a couple days. they mail those out pretty quick from what i've seen across the board. mine came in two days after my final appt, but no one was home (i think) to receive it so my gf picked it up for me the next day at the post office.

You will need to sign for it via the post man but they usually get it out the same day. Our apt was on a thursday and we had permits in hand Saturday. Congrats!!!!!!! The rest is a breeze!

so frustrating..

I used my brothers computer on the sacsheriff.com and had my DL number saved..

He didnt know I used his computer for that and randomly checked for an opening in new issuance appointments.

He scheduled an appointment for the 26th and noticed after he confirmed is said congratulation chris (last name) your appointment has been booked. He immediately cancled it of course..

I contacted amber and I had no appointment on the books so I took the earliest appointment and its april 9th

But I guess it gives me time to pick up my glock 26 and qualify with it before my final appointment but still VERY frustrating

The first appointments available in Stanislaus County aren't until May, 2014.

Consider yourself very lucky to get an appointment within 4 weeks!

I know new ccw issuance appointments arent available till the end of summer unless someone cancled. But final appointments in sac are a little easier to come by there was 7 days open in april with multiple times through each day to come in.

Just sucks knowing I would of finished my final appointment today and probably been carrying by monday

If you get your approval letter and do your livescan, can you still get denied for something on your livescan? or pretty much good to go if you get approval letter?

Livescan checks for records from other counties and states. As long as you have no history from other places there's nothing to worry about. I also believe the FBI check also checks warrants from other countries. I could be wrong about that though.

I called the number to check on my livescan, it gave the date it was responded to as the same day I did the scan. I scanned in the morning so maybe this is normal for a response the same day, I hope. So I wonder how long it takes for the mail system to work for the DOJ to Sac County.

That's bull**** right there. There is no reason that it should take 14 months to get an appointment. They are making it above and beyond onerous for you to acquire your permit. You should let Kes or one of the crew know.

SSD's last appt opening they did 350 apts and only notified the 1st 500 people on the list. That didn't even touch the surface. Last count we got via a SSD employee was there are several thousand waiting on the list and as they knock the list down more sign up. It's keeping them very very busy.
Would be great if they were able to bring in more of the retired guys full time to process apps but they are already fighting a long waiting period on the rest of the steps. I'm convinced they are doing the best they can given what they have to work with.
