Looked around and didnt see a thread for FNP/FNX pistols. So, now there is one.

I might have to add a FNP .45 USG to my list.

Can someone please straighten me out here? I am interested in an FNX-9 but just checked the CA list of approved handguns and it doesn't seem to be there. Did I miss it? It seems to be the equivalent of a U.S. made H&K USP (or successor) but made in the U.S.

The FNX is not approved. Only way to get one is to find someone that owned one and moved to CA and wants to sale it or SSE(which no one does for the FNX)

MrSlippyFist, definately counts.

Sorry, I of course saw the FDE 9 and .40 FNPs. I mistakenly thought only the newer FNX type(upgraded fire controls and frame) FDE FNHs were labeled USG. My bad should have said USG .45......

Yes it is. I used to have a FNP 45 and FNX 9mm, stupidly sold both.

I asked about the USGs and was told they were off roster at a gun store. I ended up getting the black/aluminum but I really wanted the black/sand color.
Was that just bad information?

Sold it to a co worker, was sad to see it go, but it was the only thing I had in .40 and rarely used it.

FN you say?

I only relented and bought one of these after my LGS kept raving about how great they are. It is an inordinately large handgun, but considering the capacity, the grip is quite manageable, although the checkering is pretty aggressive.

I have put a variety of ammo through it including hollow point defensive ammo and it runs like a top. It feels top heavy when empty, but it balances out perfectly when stuffed with 16 rounds of 230 grain Speer Gold Dot HP's.
