As soon as the targeting thing shows up point your doohickey at it and hold the button down. If you don't you won't get a shot off in time when it goes slow mo...
Anyone get jiggy with Tali? If you did, did you notice that the photo she gives you of 'herself' is one Bioware got off Gettyimages (I recognized it because it was on their frontpage for awhile, I go there for imagery for websites) and photochopped the lady's fingers off? So apparently the Quarians are humans with funky legs and three fingers... |

Finished the Rannoch mission, or the end of the game?

I wasnt that thrilled about the demo. ME2 was decent But won't buy any of the future ones. Did love Skyrim though, and the COD series. Never got into Halo since the 1st either.

possible BUT ******************spoiler*************** the developers have said in several interviews that they're only going to be adding on to the ending cinematic. So while they may spin it to being a Shepherd is still alive and kicking scenario they obviously didn't intend it to be that way. |

after the big explosion. I think it's pretty clear that that guy is alive, seriously ****ed up but alive. As for what they will do with DLC's later, I don't know, I just think that the final sequence being Shepard fighting against his own indoctrination explains most if not all the logical inconsistency's in that sequence(Normandy at FTL, with the people who were just in your squad, and somehow manages to find a paradise world just like the one Shepard and Liara talked about earlier in the game despite these worlds being really really rare in the game)

Apparently, if your effective military strength is high enough, then the squaddies you take with you on the final push to the transport beam will survive the assault. That's how they explain their presence in the ending cinematic when the Normandy crashes on the hitherto unknown garden world.
My question: if you choose the destruction option, do you kill off EDI and the Geth as well as the Reapers? That kind of bites since that's the only option for Shepard to survive the endgame.

Same here. At first I was incredibly upset by the ending. After more analysis there is a lot of subtle hints here and there that point to something larger of which I have my own theories.

**spoliers....well I think****
Well, here is my take. I restarted playing ME 1 from the beginning and wanted to catch anything that Bioware sneakily placed into the games but people may not have picked up on. When you first get to the Citidel in ME 1 you can run around the old version of the embassy area. There is a statue of a Mass Effect relay, if you go and check it out one of the squad members asks if you hear a odd humming noise. Same line Vega uses when you are in the new normandy in the shuttle bay. So, In short, I think BioWare Indoctrinated the players

Okay, I just joined the ranks of those who reached the end only to feel utterly let down. Normally when I hear ahead of time something is bad but I wanna see it anyway, like John Carter, I go in expecting bad and leave pleasantly surprised. But finishing ME3 knowing so many were let down by the ending, I still....was let down by the ending. What a suckfest! Great start, great improvement on gameplay, but like the previous posters, I have zero desire to replay now after that ending.

Yes the "indoctrination theory" about the ending...we have dismissed those claims.
lol But seriously, I wanted Shepard with Tali on Rannoch, happily ever after. Thats all. Was that too much to ask? To sum up why Im mostly pissed: And: Or from a Turian perspective... EDIT: And WTF is with linking the Multiplayer and single player campaigns? I have to play multiplayer to get galactic readiness over 50%? SCREW YOU BIOWARE! At least those make me laugh! back to Il2 '46 DBW for me. Last edited by C.W.M.V.; 04-02-2012 at 6:19 PM.. |

I'm with you on this one. What really got my goat were the inconsistencies at the end. I wasn't looking for a happily ever after ending, but more explanation would have helped. I hope they don't try so spin it all as indoctrination...

The endings made me so mad so I don't know if I want to play again. Plus my wife wont let me play through mass effect 1 "this game is all about you walking through the mall (Citadel station)". And she refuses to let me play through ME2 afterwards because she doesn't understand how I could die and be alive again.
This means unfortunately I am stuck with my ME3 import. Miranda died in the swarm, Jack in the stand the line and a few others gone. I also don't have any romances from the previous games so every night I sleep I get the freaky dreams.

when you import your new game into ME2 pick a paragon or renegade style and stick to it. you will need a full bar to defuse some conflicts that arise in your squad. do all loyalty missions, mine out planets to fully upgrade the Normandy and buy the upgrades for your squad members finally be smart about your choices during the suicide mission i find if i left the techs alone to hold off the collectors one of them always died. send a loyal mordin solus to escort the ship survivors back to the shuttle, keep a loyal tali and thane with you in the battle with the human reaper. as for the romances in the game male shepards go liara-tali-liara. female shepards go liara-samara (she dont give anything up and is old as he1! but its fun to dream right)-then back to liara. and dont forget about the hooker in ME1 for a little extra action if you play your cards right by the time you get ready to import into ME3 they should have DLC out that will make the ending a bit better. enjoy

FWIW
"Daniel Gonzalez, director of marketing and public relations for EA Latin America, says that they will release no DLC with a different ending. There will be a DLC to better explain the details of the ending, but the ending will remain the same. Regarding the future of the franchise, he declared that ME3 was the end of Shepard but not the end of the game, and promised that news about more DLC would be forthcoming in two weeks' time." Which was what I was told... |

Apparently when they told us there was going to be thousands of story variations leading to unique endings they were referring to the thousands of ways you can destroy an Xbox controller in frustration and anger....
Thanks Bioware, thanks, back to Skyrim. Sent from my iPhone while crashing my mountain bike.

Ending didn't bug me as much as people blew it out of proportion. I saw the whole game of ME3 as the ending to the trilogy and I enjoyed the game. Even the multiplayer is really fun. Honestly, my biggest disappointment is how they just throw in a bunch of generic guys if you don't have previous saves. I lost all my saved files for ME1 and ME2 when I migrated all my files to my new console. Really kills a lot of moments where I'd have more background with the characters due to my decisions in previous games. Watching my girlfriend play through the same areas I did, except with past characters really made my experience seem not as gratifying.
Its funny seeing people talk crap about ME3, yet herald Skyrim. Bethesda games in general epitomizes being overhyped and people misusing the word "epic" on them. Its a fine enough environment to just waste time in, but you can't tell me the game itself and the story had any real substance. The ending for example, "you.. the great dragon kin.. killed the world eating dragon.. congrats.. now go back to doing whatever you were doing before you saved the world...." So essentially.. these gamers totally disregard hours upon hours of awesome gameplay and story due to 5 minutes at the end? I can kind of see where Bioware was going and I admit the execution is bad. My guess is they were trying to do some spin off of something similar to Battlestar Galactica (they seem like genuine fans, even have Saul doing Bailey's voice).
At least it did get Bioware's attention and as a result, I'll get something new for it. |

On top of all that, Bioware had always said that all your choices matter and will have an impact on the outcome. Instead, we find out that none of your choices mattered at all and that everyone gets screwed in the end. I suppose that the current ending is one of the most realistic, cold endings that one could expect. There are a few other reasons that people are worked up about the ending. Read the article I posted earlier. It's a long read but it does a good job of explaining what people are worked up about.

And I think your right about the spinoff, the ME series to way to profitable for them to drop it now(see Halo 4 as an example of a new game after the series is "done").

Well, I was kind of hoping the endings you got were more dependent on earlier games plus some sort of epilogue. So at least they're getting the epilogue part right (unless they fugger that up too in which case the nerd rage will be hilarious).

It's frustrating not just in its simplicity, but its lack of ability to handle concluding a story some of us have put hundreds of hours into across three games. It feels like they were rushed to meet deadlines. There isn't "16 endings," there's one with +/-5% change between each other. Rather than expand so many things that could have been, they just toss a quick catch-all ending and hope for the best. With such a vast, rich, and lush universe filled with so many different life forms, relationships, and interactions, it seemed to be a lazy, time-constraint, cop-out to take the route they did. Another theory a friend of mine mentioned is the possible reasoning for a wipe like that could set the groundwork for a possible Mass Effect MMO... Who knows on that one...

Honestly, given the intricacy that the ME universe has generated in just 5 years, I think I'd enjoy a ME based MMORPG. That idea appeals a lot more to me than SW:TOR.
