Went in for the "works" to local SoCal smith. I've requested the following to be done:
-install beavertail grip safety
-install Harrison Design ignition set & tune trigger
-install and blend S&A magwell and MSH
-cut slide for Novak front and rear (gold bead front and 10-8 U-notch rear)
-flat top and serrate slide
-ball end mill cut on slide
-lower and flare ejection port
-blend rear slide to frame
-tighten slide to frame fit
-20LPI front strap checkering and undercut trigger guard
-re-blue entire pistol (close to original Colt Royal Blue finish)

Short of a new barrel, seems like everything I want on it.

Gee, Vinny, it's going to be too dolled-up to shoot.

Colt GM from 1967 rebuilt by Jim Clark Sr. in 1992. Still strong.

@tipoc: Looks better than what you can get from a gunsmith or an OEM today.

Thanks! I kinda love that 1903

I'm a little wary to shoot my Series 80 too much, though it's real tempting to take it to a Wild Bunch match. I always shoot my Springfield in those matches, it's my work horse

As far as shooting, my favorite is the Commander. It seems to me the more balanced .45 Auto. JMHO

As far as Coolness, my favorite is the decommissioned USMC M45A1!

Thank you Mister Coffee. I still shoot this once in a while just enough to enjoy it. I was lucky enough to get it years ago and it’s been a pleasure to have. Colt owners have to have at least one from WWI and/or WWII.
Happy shootin!

My lightly modified Wiley Clapp Gov't model. Slide to frame is typical Colt (in my experience) loose, but barrel and bushing are a decent fit. Changed the ignition system to a Cylinder & Slide setup, Harrison Design trigger and thumb safety, 10-8 slide stop, Slim-tech grips, and a 10-8 rear sight. A new beavertail will be the next mod...

Yes, Walnut grips with gold Colt medallions. Putting this Colt NM back to original condition.

I just acquired a factory barrel bushing wrench and round screwdriver.

And found a original "old, new stock" Gold Cup box and owners manual. As soon as I get it, I'll post new pics.
