HOLD UP! Did I just read your response to this letter right ? other than parent to child exemption ALL firearms trades/sales in Kalifornia require an FFL to perform a DROS. Unless I'm wrong somehow and I'm pretty sure there's a 10 day wait on anything thats not C&R as well......

(again except parent/child transfers of long guns. (until 2014)
Handguns you still have to send in a form to the DOJ and a small $19 fee)

A friend got one today, he DROS a pistol at Martin Retting.

Are these only being sent out to those who have DROS a handgun and not a long gun?

Idk about la specifically but as far as state those statements are fraudulent under color of law, which is a crime in itself. They should be sued and charges pressed

With everything we have going on in this state THIS IS NOTHING. We have much, much bigger fish to fry!

Local law enforcement has been informed of gun purchases since 1923. Nothing new. The letter simply outlines the law - which every gun owner should know and which we talk about every day here on line.

The cost of a stamp and a computer generated letter is small. Me reaction would be, "Thanks for telling me what I already know".

Are there any updates on this? I am a potential first time gun buyer in San Gabriel, CA but I do not want to receive mail showing that I have just bought a gun since I live with my big sister (very liberal, democratic, anti gun girl)...

Are they still sending out letters like this?

That's funny.

Just tell her they must have confused ME for some SOB, lets hunt him down and "share"(yell and belittle) our "Views"(All that is liberal is good). Then thank the government for giving you the opportunity for reeducation.
