Default 8mm Mauser current market prices

Been away from C&R purchases/sales for quite a while. Trying to rekindle my interest. Seems like the C&R prices have risen a lot. No more $100 Mosin!

Curious what Yugo or Czech 8mm Mausers sell for these days, say on Calguns marketplace? Quick browse of Gunbroker seems to indicate starting prices at $600 and above. Does that sound about right?

JG Sales has some Czech and Yugo rifles in the $400-$500 range.

$350 -$500 for a M48, perhaps a bit more for a minty example.

Czech VZ-24 $250 - $650 based on condition, matching, intact crest...

It just depends on how much appearance matters to you and how wide you are willing to open your wallet.

RC K98’s seem to be north of $600 nowadays. Dozens of other milsurp 8mm Mausers out there in every price range. Still a fair amount of 8mm surplus out there too.

That's a good price for an M48.

K98s and their bayonets don't have matching serial numbers, unless someone coincidentally found matching #s and put them together. They weren't issued by the Germans as a serial number-matching set. Non German or captured rifles could have been force-matched, I guess.

I will probably have to sell of some of my existing K98's, including an RC DOU 45, a Czech rework, and my Kriegsmodell BNZ 45, which came to me as a minty phosphated barreled receiver that I pieced together with unmatching but correct very late war parts. All well worth it in order to step up to what all collectors covet: An all matching premium grade Mitchell K98. And yes, the COE is included.

I'd take a look at Empire Arms. The owner, Dennis Kroh, is a member here.

Not the common ones, at least not on a regular basis.

If Czech rework is matching I would be interested.
