Default Talk to me about your favorite CC gun belt..

For years I have used a curved style Kramer horsehide leather gun belt, but now it's time to look for another belt.

I see there are a few newer style belts being made and i would like options on what cg'ers are using.

I need a 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" belt, and the heaviest items would range from a lightweight j-frame to a glock 30 / cz 75 p01 with reload.

The main reason i am thinking of changing out my old belt is that since I've lost a lot of weight - the end of the belt hangs down passed my knees lol, and the belt is showing some wear.

So, is there something better than the old Kramer horsehide leather belt ?

I got a recommendation for one of these. http://twofoolsleathergoods.com/fatboy-belts/

Great quality, nice and stiff, looks great and works really well as my edc belt

Love my Blue Alpha Gear with the Hybrid Cobra buckle. Makes using the Cobra system a breeze to get through all sorts of belt loops

Kore

https://www.koreessentials.com/?gcli...SAAEgJX0fD_BwE

I got a black 1 1/2 inch wide belt. I adjust it however tight I want it in 1/4 inch increments, so not a slave to the holes punched 1 inch apart.

You trim the belt to fit, though I left mine long in case I (ahem) “grew.” After a year plus, the end of the leather gripped by the removable buckle began to give up its hold (not due to growth). So I trimmed the end about a quarter inch, giving the buckle a “fresh “ piece of leather to grip. No problems since.

I ordered a brown one too, but have only worn it twice with a suit. Every other time I just wear black and my shirt covers it. Nice buckle selection too. I chose a traditional looking buckle that looks like it connects through a hole in the belt (but it doesn’t).

The reinforcement inside the belt is plastic, but it holds a Shield no problem. Not sure after time how it holds up to an all-metal full size carry piece, but who wants to carry and conceal all that weight?

On the pure number of recommendations for Kore, I bought the Kore Tan Tactical for use with khakis and jeans. The belt is stiff...what you need....and works well. The ratchet system works great.

But then, I also bought a Daltech Force black belt....with no buckle, has Velcro attachment. Stiff, almost as much as the Kore....also works fine.

My G26 and PPS can be held with probably any decent gun belt.....but if I add a G30s it likely needs the stiffness of these better belts.

I also use a Sticky or Clinger holster with no belt if I want. Works great as a simpler setup....just stuff it and go. I use the belts for longer periods of carry, and also will need them for training classes.

I have the SR belt with the plastic buckles. Passes through Dickies loops just fine. Plus it passes right by metal detectors when not carrying.

I’ve been using the Aegis belt by Ares Gear for years. I don’t see the reason to use anything else.

Hank’s for leather, http://precisionholsters.com/product...ylon-belt.html for nylon. Minimal hardware, and no ratcheting, so you adjust precisely for the pants/holster/size of your lunch.

Ares Gear Ages Enhanced (or regular)

http://www.aresgear.com/index.php?ma...x&cPath=99_108

Why?

VERY high quality. Will easily last for 5 years of daily use.

Infinitely adjustable. You will NEVER go back to holes in your belt that never quite seem to be in exactly the right place.

Looks good enough for any casual setting.

Rigid AF. Will easily handle any EDC load but also a full range load out if needed. One belt can serve two purposes.

It's scuba webbing (and stainless steel). It will withstand rain and the elements better than leather.

Easy to thread through belt loops unlike some cobra buckles. Also doesn't scream "shoot me first" like some tactical belts.

Why it may not be for you:

It is a bit pricey...but again, it will last forever.

It is fairly rigid. Not everyone likes super rigid belts for EDC. YMMV

Hanks. My first and only CCW purpose built belt. Bought it when I first started the CCW process to practice around the house testing my carry options. Still have the same belt. I have had my permit for just over a year and the belt is holding up great.

https://www.thebeltman.net

I’ve worn mine every single day for the last 3-4 years, tons of life left in it. Will be ordering another one in the next year or two.

That, or get serious about making my own. See Al Stohlman.

Besides that, osoe edc (all of their belts, really) are really nice.

It depends on if you want max effectiveness and comfort. I highly recommend Nexbelt which allows you .25 inch adjustments for a perfect fit regardless of your gun choice. Many of the other belts recommended above are very good, but few are as comfortable as well as effective as the Nexbelt.

On a positive side we now have the Nexbelt gun belts in sizes all the way out to 67, and next week will have the Carbon Fiber look gun belt, as well as Thin Blue Line, and 2A belts.

Kore is having a Labor Day sale. One you try them, you'll never go back to a thick leather/Instructor/last chance/Wilderness type belt: https://www.instagram.com/p/BnFUbSCgtrm/

I got into Nexbelts because they are ubiquitous in every golf course pro shop or golf retailer out there. I don't know who is doing their marketing but he must be related to the cranberry guy. Then I saw their display of Nexbelts in the LGS and saw that they actually have one made for carrying a gun. It is a carbon fiber look and it is very stiff. The Nexbelt concept is fantastic for golf but off the charts for carrying your weapon. The belt is very stiff and the buckle has notches every 0.25" so it is highly adjustable to no matter what you're wearing that day.

I was an unbeliever before but then I found the light and the Kore Trackline belt. Now I am a true believer and own 2. Great belts that are infinitely adjustable and more than capable of supporting my heaviest loadout.
