Has anybody been to the new CCW office in riverside? Where does one park, at the building dept lot across the street? Just curious.

I think it depends on when you did your livescan.. That seems to be the holdup. I know at the June class, they were saying permits should be issued in 4 weeks, but who knows if that’s really the case.

I'll look around when I get there....if need be, I'll just park in the Building Dept. parking lot across the street.

When I went in last week the sheriff deputy said that it's based on the person that has the final say. He basically picks up a random stack of applications that are in no specific order

I was in the May 5th class, got the email Monday and picked it up Tuesday. My Live Scan was performed on March 8th, a week after my interview.

When I went to the bank to get a Cashier's Check for the $80 balance, the girl behind the counter knew exactly what it was for, she asked "initial or renewal?" While she processed, we talked in a vague manner about States we visit that are good or no good.

Well I guess I just need to be more patient. Just picked mine up. I never thought the day would come where I could carry a concealed weapon in the state of Commiefornia.

Park on the street. It’s $3/hr. Picked up my renewal and wife’s initial issue and it was enough time.

Will having 5 guns on your permit renewal application cause the deputies to look sideways at you? I've only had 2 past 3+ years and would like to have additional firearms on the list. Was wondering if that would jeopardize my renewal? Thanks.

I went from 3 to 5 on my last renewal and there was no issue. Other than one of the Deputies joking with me about only needing 1 ever on your permit.

I told him I totally agree as long as the one said "Any handgun".

ETA...Interview went as expected, the usual banter/ribbing. Only thing I noticed that was different from my 2014 interview was they did not take photos. Next is livescan tomorrow afternoon.

Two people did come pick up their permits while I was there. Congrats to them!

Did mine 3 months out and it wasn’t ready before my license expired. I’d go 4 months out.

I was reading here about people loading all 6 onto their permit, but I stopped at 5 even though I had another to put on my permit. When I qual'd at Ben Clark, I was the only goofball with 5 and finished last. Most people had 1 or 2. When I get to my renewal, I'm bringing it down to 3, maybe even 2.

Does any one have a Colt XSE 1911 or any other Loaded (factory upgraded) 1911 on their permit?

I have a XSE 1911 that I want to put on my permit. I am wondering if they rather see a milspec 1911. Or if the XSE is fine since it came from factory like that.

For those of you (if any) that are going to the class tomorrow (07/07), can you ask if stippling is allowed. I believe I read somewhere in this thread about "no stippling allowed" to "no issues with it".

I'd just like to have the latest info.

TIA,

Mark

Usually 3-5 weeks after qualification... it’s only been one since the date you gave

Haha I was pre approved before training in Riverside, does that speed up the process or is that common before training?

Apologies if this is the wrong spot to post this question. The deputy in Riverside told me to email him the good cause statement. And he advised me to compare myself to my neighbor, and what would make me be qualified to get a CCW versus my neighbor. Is there a person on here a good source to message and get some feedback on this?
thanks

Can anyone tell me how much and time wise is the qualification CCW class at Ben Clark. Any reason to Qual there verses any of the other places?

Thanks

Ben Clark took about 4 hours of classroom training, but the deputy who ran it was great & hilarious time flew bye . Range time was about 2-3 hours. I highly recommend it , also I think it was the best bang for your buck 100$. All the deputies on the range want everyone to pass & qualify they were great

Just called today and got a date of June 26th 2019! Figured I've been talking about doing this forever and my son was just born so I guess I am rethinking things and feel that the sooner I get it the better. I was hoping someone in here could help me with my GC statement as I am new to this and would like some help with verbiage that RSO would like to see in it.

What does an 03 FFL have to do with a GC for Riverside County CCW?
