My Springfield Trapdoor 45-70
my grandpa gave me this a few days ago. said he bought it in 1947 for $5. he said it was his deer gun for a long time and the last time out he knocked the front sight off. good news is that i found a new sight for it. its in awesome shape.

Nice! Looks like it has a rifle trigger guard on it. Great gift! I started gifting my firearms to my kids too. Don't want to wait until I'm in my 80s and they are in their 50s. I'd rather they enjoy them now when they are young adults.

Good eye on the trigger guard. I didn't even notice. Not really a big deal to me. I may shoot it here or there, but it's just something I hope to pass down to my boys. Not trying to sell.
