Ok, back on my Don Quixote horse... :-) I took a 224 Valkyrie case, was drilled & tapped it to fit on the Hornady OAL Gauge. It does nicely, all well and good. Case was once fired, cleaned, decapped, and SB sized first. Interesting problem. The Hornady factory Modified cases are also neck expanded so the bullet easily slides out of the case neck to find the lands just past the leade. The neck on my mod case is opened up by the expander ball just fine for seating, but the .224 pills are way too tight for testing. So... .224 is 5.7mm and .243 is 6.0mm. I don't know of any weird cartridges that would have a expanding ball sized between. Does anyone have thoughts or THE solution to SLIGHTLY open up the neck? I don't have another RCBS decapper/expander ball that is under 30 cal. I'll call RCBS on Tues, but no definitive answer in their catalog. I'm beginning to think it would have been less hassle and $$ to just send two cases to Hornady and let them do their magic. Perhaps I should be riding Dapple rather than Rocinante. :-) TIA... :-)

I did that on a case (30-06?) that already had a small fissure in the neck long ago; worked ok, but not as accurate as using the COL gauge. I was trying to duplicate the Hornady product to claim as much case space as I could.

Thanks for the suggestion. :-)

Random question, does anyone have a miter saw in the Rio Linda area? Need to build my new reloading bench and I really don't want to have to hand cut all the lumber...

Free... Burned up my RCBS green round tub vibration cleaner motor. Tried to 'fix' it but no bueno. Thought the bowl and slotted lid would be good for 'something' but after two years it is excess. IF there is someone out there that would like to have it, I'll save to the next meeting or can be picked up. Figure it can be used for a second media if that idea is useful.

What's the best lube for reloading press shaft? It's so hard....to move. I just used Breakfree CLP and it broke apart the gunk that built up on the shaft. Thanks

Re: 40 Cal Ammunition. Been asked & I'm not sure... for someone not into reloading, but will save the brass, is there a preference of factory ammo for plinking and perhaps more accurate shooting. Recommendations? TIA.

You kinda lost me, but I would say If You Got the money then test many brands to see what is best.
