I was wondering when we would see a current page. Maybe a "Time to apply" section in list format in this thread?

Awsome work!

i wonder why the counties that are "pro ccw" are taking this long to release their accepted good cause statements?

ex. kern, fresno, madera, riverside<--??, and several others

Can someone start a separate sticky for counties that have "***Time to Apply!***" status (Sacto, Merced, San Joaquin, etc.)?

8 down, 50 to go...

**EDIT**
Just went and read a whole bunch of those GC statements. Looks like most places will issue for just about anything! I even saw one that was left blank??? Cronyism at its finest?

I sincerely hoping this is not thread-jacking.

Is there some sense in which it could be argued that - if a particular set of GC are accepted in a large number of counties (perhaps even a majority) - that it could be considered unconstitutional (equal protection) to deny in other counties based upon those same GC statements?

Not only is the argument weak legally, but it won't matter soon (or at least in a shorter time period than new, costly litigation with an almost certain chance of dismissal). There is plenty of good trouble to cause if patience isn't in the cards.

Can you give us a clue on the next handful of counties that will have their GC statements posted?

We are expecting some additional counties to be available today and they will be posted once they have been redacted properly.

In this case, I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Dare I ask: How long until Alameda County? I know, I know: "two weeks."

I'll look like this by the time Ala goes vSI

Alameda will take me a bit longer as there are 1322 pages.
Have to:
  1. Identify GC statements
  2. Redact
  3. Assemble and post
I've identified all the GC statements in the first 700 or so pages tonight, hoping to ID the remainder tomorrow. Then onto step 2 & 3.

You are an awesome FREEDOM MACHINE! ! !

When I went to bed, there were 9 counties' GCs posted. When I wake up, there's 11. That's almost 1/5th of all the counties. I'm feeling like a kid on Christmas finding presents under the tree in the morning!

I THANK YOU ALL, now esp you guys doing the "grunt work" behind the scenes.

For the past 3 yrs I've skipped getting myself anything for Christmas (or my birthday) because Wayne's had sales on supra Life memberships and said they've needed the money (they spent $20M on election campaigns this year alone). Well, I'll skip myself again this year and send CGN and CGF presents for the hard work and "gifts" (unchaining our RKBA in this state), that you have give me.

Thanks again,
"Paladin"

Excellent!

Just browsed through it, and didnt like what I saw. No a lot of permits issued, and those there were issued were LE or criminal justice system current or former employees, even the ones with specific threats against their lives.

You are right, slim pickins. I wonder if the department submitted certain applications strategically.

That gets us to "Good Cause Statements Available." What are the steps required to go from that to "***Time to Apply!***"?

I'm not against any CCW good cause statements but I can hear a Sheriff countering all reasons for a CCW. Bank drops at night, Sheriffs answer, don't bank at night. Fear for my life, Sheriffs answer, call 911. I lock up my business at night in a bad area, Sheriffs answer, move. And on and on forever. SLO county will be a tough nut to crack.

Clearly I need to move to Glenn county. In LA if you put "to conform to the law" the sherriff would ask "what are you doing now that DOESN"T conform to the law?".

WOW!!!! I'm going to be quite busy with all that reading, and I have a feeling it will be quite a large file even after the final steps.

Patience. In addition to the good cause statements coming in, there will be substantial movement on many fronts which we'll share soon.

Our (CGF's counter): If you accepted that GC from ANYONE similarly situated, you must accept it from us! If not, you'll get a lesson in 14th A Equal Protection law from a federal judge.
