I ordered my polish ak47 kit with the barrel already headspaced from ak-builder.com. From what I had just scene they only have the bulgy ak74 kit with wooden stock and barrel installed, as well as the 9'' ak pistol.

At this point in time guys the location I work out of only has room for 3-5 people at most. Also their is no test firing on the property as it is in incorporated residential area.
With 1 press and a 1 set of tools and 1 experienced builder 3-5 people would be the max I can do together without splitting my attention too much and not providing the quality attention I feel each builder should have with the learning process. The line at build parties has always been at the sand blasting / parkerizing stage of the build. A build party at my place will not be as epic as Enthusiasts parties but I wanna make sure that the people that come, do at least get their projects completed with quality. This is the reason that I only do 1 on 1 builds at the moment. If you guys feel like getting a few guys together (3-5) is worth It? I will set something up for either the end of this month or next month (more likely) over a weekend. Discuss in thread. |

I hope this keeps up an interest in the SoCal area, as soon as I finish my AR, I would like to have a go at an AK74 build up... 5.45 is so cheap!

Justintoxicated....You don't need to buy a populated barrel but if you go to a party you will have to have your barrel populated before the party (most cases anyway) however if you do a one on one build with someone you can probably get everything done in one day from scratch. If you need any help shoot me an e-mail or pm...Im in Menifee...

I'd be interested in this. I just started my first AR build but I wouldn't mind putting that on hold to build an AK with a group. Is there a thread that would give me an idea of what all I need to build an AK outside of a parts kit?

A friend and I would be interested in coming to a build party just to observe and ask questions. We want to get all the 411 before making the investment. We can bring food and drinks if that helps?

I have a high quality bulgy kit purchased from a group buy from waaaay back in the day. Believe I have several flats as well. I had donated cash to a San Diego AK build party at one time, but, couldn't make it due to schedule conflicts. I'm near Mission Valley.
I'd love to finally turn that kit into a quality home build. Add me to your list, please.
