Have had mine for about a month and I would like to know what I can do with the sights, the primary aspect of the mp22 that I feel could use improvement. Which sights fit?

M&P9 & M&P40 have been confirmed to fit (sometimes need a bit of filing to fit the dovetail). I read on the S&W forum that some have contacted S&W and they sent them some dot sight for the rears for free.

Other than that Dawson Percision make some FO sights thats are made for the M&P22.

Personally I think I will be using Truglo TFOs

I've been browsing the site after buying my first gun last month, an XD 9 Service, and I just bought an M&P 22 today, $399.

I hope it's not against forum rules to give out info where I purchased, I noticed several people are desperate to find one.

Center Mass Shooting in Vacaville has two left.

BTW, great forum here, lots of great info.

I'll get my S&W M&P 15 and M&P 15-22 out of jail this Saturday.
I haven't owned a gun for 30 years, and now I've purchased 4 in 2 months. Guess I got the fever bad.

Thanks for the heads up! I bought an M&P22 there today as well They still have a couple after I bought mine. The price was $419, they said only the manager could give a discount and he wasn't there.

Vacaville is about an hour drive from my home - that's how enthusiastic (or crazy) I am Yes, I tried to find one closer but no one had it. A couple of shops even claimed M&P22 is not legal in CA... oh well, aren't they professionals.

I bought a M&P22 back in June. Im in Oregon and got the 12 round version. Paid 349.00 out the door and recently added 2 extra mags to box.

Havent had a chance to shoot it yet..been to hot and smokey up here

There is a nice review on the gun here
http://www.gunsumerreports.com/revie...n_M&P22_p1.php

Im looking to add the 9 or 40 rear sight to the gun soon

I like the feel..I was looking at several other .22 handguns and the M&P22 kept ending up in my hands..Looked at the ruger mkIII, neos and a couple others, then the M&P22 went on sale so i bought one

Thank you much! Now I am looking at the truglo and dawson precision's as the standard M&P rear does not have elevation.

On performance of the 22
I have put around 1500 rounds through her. She has had a few FTE and FTF's but that was at the 1200+ round mark, gave her a good cleaning and she went right back to running smoothly.
Has eaten every style of .22lr I have thrown at her, and she is really accurate.

Also ran into man0man at the range, glad to see a fellow forum member irl!

New to calguns and really appreciate all I've learned here in the last few months. I too now just put a m&p 22 in jail now that I know i've got it not sure if the next 10 days will be harder or easier than the time to this point. Thanks for all the great info. I almost went for the sr22 but came back to the mp after shooting both.

Yeah, that happened to me a couple of times too. One of shops I called is a forum sponsor but he was nice enough to check on his computer and admitted he was wrong. He said he'll be calling S&W to order a few for his shop but I haven't checked back with him since I picked mines up at another shop.

Anything for a fellow calgunner!

The nice thing about Dawson is they actually make a special set for the M&P22. With the other companies you will be getting sights that was made for the centerfire M&Ps which may require some filing to make them fit. I'm pretty dead set on the truglos so I'll be posting a report on the installation as soon as it happens.

Default ASC advertising in their store for them.

I put a down payment down at American Shooting Center for one of them. Guy behind the counter said their distributor told them they would be getting some. (Don't know how many.)

The guy behind the counter told me that they didn't know what the price was going to be and when they would get them. I told them my 30 day wait wasn't up until early October and he said he doubted they would get them by then.

It was an impulse purchase on my part and after thinking about it I probably wouldn't do it again, but I would really like to get my hands on one.

Check your LGS, especially if they are an S&W dealer, they might have information for you.

I still haven't seen one actually in a shop in California.

I've only seen non-CA threaded barrel versions in some shops lately. Those guys just don't know what they're doing... The correct M&P22 (SKU 122002) is probably sold out, rumors are we'll have to wait a few months.

Careful about the threaded barrel ones. I got a nice letter from the DOJ about a year or two after I bought my P22 saying if I don't send it back to S&W to get the barrel permanently put in place it would be a felony charge. They do eventually get around to tracking these mistakes down.

Any sightings or knowledge of any of the CA versions for sale within Los Angeles County to SD? It's hard tracking these things down...

I'd appreciate it, thanks!

Closest I've seen is a sign in Turner's Pasadena last weekend; they are apparently taking preorders for October delivery, price is $380.

Just put my deposit/pre-order for it at Turner's in Norwalk, CA. $379, and will be available in October as previously mentioned. Total came out to $443~ after DROS, taxes, etc.

Does this come with 1 or 2 magazines? The reps and Turner's didn't know the details.

All S&W/Umarex M&P-22 only come with one magazine.

Ordered one from my FFL in Tehachapi Saturday. $450 OTD. Should be in Tuesday.

Grabagun had them this weekend for $350 or so with $5 shipping.

Am I the only one that thinks a compact version of this gun would be ideal?
I like the M&P but LOVE the M&P 9C and I'd definitely jump on a M&P 22C if they produced one...

Peninsula Guns in San Bruno just called me this morning and said they were in stock and asked if I wanted one put on hold for me. I would've took them up on the offer if I didn't just buy one on grabagun on Friday.

They're still in stock at grabagun btw.

Cool, thanks. I wonder if it's hard to replace the front though. Was looking at a few sets like these:

I've read online that the front can be a PITA, but I've never tried it. The front was close enough to my 9MM that I left it untouched and only swapped the rear.

Dawson Precision makes a set of FO sights specifically designed for the M&P .22

http://www.dawsonprecision.com/Categ...2+Front+Sights
http://www.dawsonprecision.com/Produ...5C6-1341856480

But there are numerous reports that centerfire M&P sights fits no problem
