Default Where to find Saiga 7.62x39??

My buddy and I would like to buy a couple of the Saigas but can't seem to find any. We want to eventually convert them. If you know of any and especially if any come across at a better price please let us know.
Thanks.

They are few and far between. I waited almost a year to find one. Alquist arms in turlock got 4 in a week ago and all were gone in a matter of minutes. I managed to get one of them for 499. You'll be hard pressed to find one cheaper than that IF you can find one. The importers are having trouble getting them which has made them scarce and expensive!

Torquen,
You can find them here! in the private sales sub forum.
however, youre going to pay AT LEAST 600-700 in this market.
But for that price youre getting a NEW Russian made Kalashnikov rifle ...you could do worse...

Good Luck

They are very difficult to find. I haven't seen one for a while. They used to be everywhere.

Now if you see an Arsenal or another conversion I highly recommend that you jump it if you an afford it.

I just DROS'd one at Turner's last week because I saw someone post on this site that they had some in the warehouse. I went back the next day and they were out of stock in the warehouse; even the floor model they had was transferred to another store so they sold out quickly! I paid $600 for mine but I had seen one for $800 at a LGS and on the calguns marketplace it seemed like the asking price was $750 and up.

Just picked one up for $599 from Tac 47. I've been looking for six months. It was a little expensive but I jumped on it. I am glad I did. Cheapest I've seen is $549, but good luck trying to price shop. If you find one for under $600, I would buy it immediately. They will be gone fast. Check the Saiga and AK forums. That's where I read about mine. I also Like Facebook pages for gun shops that regularly update their current stock - Alquist Arms, Guns Direct in Burbank, and Tracy Rifle and Pistol. The first two just updated that they had Saigas. A lot of gun shops update inventory on Facebook. Your last option will be Gun Broker. Most will be in the $700 to $900 range - good luck finding someone who will ship to CA.

I got pretty lucky at my LGS. Went in to shoot with a buddy, saw it hanging on the wall, asked for price and caliber, purchased a 7.62x39 saiga for 600 out the door. gun store was OC indoor shooting range in Brea, i would give them a call they might be expecting some.

There are a few on gunbroker but they are a little expensive..

I've seen quite few...they are not that rare....that "hard to find" quote that a lot of people here are saying is getting old....

I was going to buy 1 for 600 off a guy at the Orange County guns show....I passed on it....

I see some for sale here on calguns.....fair prices to...

I just got one and even did a trade for one....no cash involved...

The one at Alamo Pawn was (I think) $699 and it might have been used. It was in 5.45x39 and they had a spam can of ammo for sale too.

I have 3 Saigas (7.62x39 and 2 in .223) and they are great rifles.

I am glad I bought my Saiga 7.62 roughly two years ago. Paid 400$ Plus Tax/Dros at a Local Gun Show.

5,000+rounds, no hiccups. One of my favorite rifles, they are extremely fun.

Can't believe people are talking $400, $500, $600 and up for a Saiga.
Got mine about 2 years ago for $289, the 308s and Saiga 12s were about $100 more. I was thinking about getting a few more at the time cause they were all over at real low prices, but I had other bills to pay.
Really like my Saiga now after butting it back to what it should be more or less.
Wish I would had got that Saiga 12 back then.
Hard to believe in some of these prices. Was just looking at the price of the M&P AR15 sport. I got one last year for about $600 out the door, now they are like $200 or more over what I paid.
Sad

That's a rip off, I would think a new shop would be trying to attract new customers not scare them away.

Your opinion. Worth the price we paid for it.

This market it crazy and gunshops have to make a living. So what if they were selling for $400 out the door 2 years ago. They are NOT now. Remember - they need to be 'sportsterized' before being shipped to dealers if they are a Saiga or equivalent. RAA I've not seen much from them. Vepr run $800 and up...

.

Sure that's my opinion. The market has cooled down a lot since the peak. I would guess the OP could buy one off gunbroker and save $100 after fees with a couple days looking. Buds just had them for around $500(I realize they won't ship to Ca). My point is they are out there if you look, no reason to let someone gouge you.

Supply and Demand.....most $500-$600 Saiga's are from sellers who won't ship to California. They are out there but they won't ship to California so what good does that for people who want it in California? How about post up some links to people selling them at a Non-gouge price instead of telling people they are getting gouged?

Gunbroker Saiga Search:
http://www.gunbroker.com/All/BI.aspx...rds=Saiga+7.62

Here's one on Gunbroker at $450.00 (current bid) Buy it now $650......1 hour left in auction.

499 + tax and DROS is what I just paid for mine new in box from alquist. I think thats a very fair price in this market right now. Still more than it should be but seeing theyve been going for 600-700 easily

Any savings from an online purchase is easily negated when it is going to cost an extra $85+ just for DROS/Transfer. Not to mention 8.75% tax.
