I saw the first episode last night. I was trying to decide who would be out the first and second nights. That woman with the baby looks like she will be in for a while.

It was on last night. It was more of a "meet the participants" episode. It detailed the selection process a bit and got to the point where they were about to be dropped off.

I just saw the episode about the picking of the contestants. They haven't even left home and a bunch of them are already on the cry/snivel train. That is not a good start in my mind.

This season the contestants have a huge advantage having watched last year's show. They got to see the environment and weather conditions they have to live in, what tools worked best for getting food, what shelter worked best, the threats of wildlife and how hard it was to be alone. I can see people tapping out because of lack of food or being sick but anyone tapping out because they got lonely should be embarrassed. They knew exactly what they were getting into.

I agree they will have somewhat of an advantage over the guys from last year. It will still be tough though. Just knowing that it will be cold, wet, miserable, and lonely won't make things much better I don't think; you're still going to be cold and wet and miserable. Like you said though they should be able to form a better plan of attack than last season's contestants.

I finally watched the preview episode and all the videos on History's website where each contestant explains the items they chose to bring. I am going to say right now that despite him being the only one not bringing a fixed-blade knife, I think Justin Vititoe will win it all. Jose Ameodo and Larry Roberts a close second and third.

Make your predictions now before the next episode gentlemen!

Wow, the first guy taps out before he makes it a day.
"The bears better be scared of me....wait, is that bear scat? Where's that radio, I'm outta here."

Yep, that's when I told my wife he is going to be the first to tap out. Seems to me the guy in the midlife crisis is gong to be next.
