Default Steyr 95/34 From J&G

Does anyone have the Steyr 95/34 that's listed on J&G? I have been thinking about getting one for a while now. I guess the ammo is hard to get but what about reloading? Any thoughts on it?

I picked one up when they had their black Friday sale. Graf's has everything you need to reload, I went with the Lee dies. It's a good rifle but I haven't done any distance shooting with it yet, only the indoor range for a function test.

+1

I did the same and just got around to shooting it last week, boy that little gun rocks - I love it! You can buy ammo but it's pricy:

Here's the one I got from J&G:

It was a dusty and a bit dirty but very little cosmo.

FYI - Invest in some gun grease, it helps with da bolt!

Also I have a conatact for slings as well

Check your PM's - I sent you a link for the sling, can't help you with the bayo.
J&G Sales use to have some but they're out.

Also invest in a recoil pad (aka sissy-pad) your shoulder will thank you!

these are great rifles, I have 2. Have about 120 round of commercial left. Saving my brass, Graf has all you need for reloading. really wakes them up at the range up here. can hit an 18" square plate nearly every time at 230 yards.

What about the clip, are those required to shoot them as repeaters?

I saw one for sale at a gun shop in the Bay Area, long rifle, 8x56, the shop labeled the rifle as being an antique .

If any one feels like ordering couple and cherry picking what arrives I'd be glad to take the leftovers ... Assuming you don't fall in love with all of them and keep them all...

Yes, if you don't have an enbloc clip you can only shoot them single shot.

They are a hoot, I like shooting the 3 I have. There was a guy selling .330 gas checked cast bullets on gun broker that work real well. I have not seen them for sale in a while though.

You can also fire form 7.62x54r brass rounds to reload for 8x56r, they do come out a little short though.

Dennis, could you please PM me the info for the slings?

yes, and if you load it singly clip the rim under the extractor or you'll break it. i bought Prvi brass and bullets from grafs and buffalo arms, when in stock. lots of folks use cast bullets but i haven't got there yet. i just recently loaded up some 208gr fmjbt prvi bullets in prvi brass with bl-c(2) we'll see how it shoots. these are very cool rifles and the clips are easy to find. try ebay, gunbroker, etc. they're out there.

I can help with the sling but as far as a bayo, you're on your own ( I bought one ebay a while ago and had trouble getting it to fit on the lug)
I'll just post it:

Here's the deal with this guy; this is a weekend business, so if you are in a hurry - go some place else. However the guy's prices are pretty decent!

Liberty tree collectors also have slings in stock. I've ordered from them before, they're good guys.

And if you guys find a bayonet they also have frogs.

If anyone needs accessories for these, I have:

2 original WW1 Austrian bayonets, complete with scabbards and frogs:
# 1 has a brown leather frog and original WW1 Austrian green paint on the scabbard.
#2 has a black leather frog, black paint on the scabbard, and is unit marked on the back of the pommel. These are rare original, untouched and undicked with bayonets, NOT the usual and cheaper Bulgarian post-WW2 reworked ones one usually encounters. Price is $80 each + shipping.

I have 2 slings:
#1 is well used Bulgarian brown leather sling. This is the early post-WW2 type that the Bulgarians used on their Steyr M95, Mosin, and AK rifles. $20 + shipping.
#2 - Austrian 1930's sling. The Germans also used these slings on M95's and other rifles after the re-unification of Austria into the Reich in 1938. $35 + shipping.

Ammo pouches: I have 2 types -
1. WW2 Green canvas, matched pairs with left and right pouches. $25 per pair + shipping.
2. Post-war brown leather. 1 nice unissued matched pair $25 + shipping.
3. Post-war brown leather. This is just a single pouch. $10 + shipping.

Ammo: I have one box of 1938 dated German 8X56r ammo. 10 rounds, on 2 stripper clips, in the orignial box...everything - box, clips, ammo - is Nazi marked with eagles and swastikas. $15 + shipping.
