Default Steel core ammo at cow mountain?

New member, first post. Hey everyone, the title pretty much says it all but are steel core rounds allowed at cow mountain only during certain months or are they banned all year round?

As far as I know, they are allowed...but I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for burning the place down with a spark! It's dry out there right now!

I shoot steel core ammo out there all the time. I've never had a problem. That's part of the reason I love Cow Mountain - no stupid rules about what you can and can't shoot.

Anyone ever have a ranger come and check out your guns and ammo up there?

I've never seen rangers checking kit, but Ive heard if it. My buddy told me they showed up once after some idiot was bump firing his ar for a while. Usually a great place to shoot, my buddy uses Steele core often, but he isn't shooting at dryers and propane bottles. That place is dry as a match! I once saw an ar15 light a fire because of some leftover metal scrap unseen under the rubble. The place can be pretty full of junk. If I was gonna shoot steel core up there, I'd only do so with a dirt backstop, and prob with a fire extinguisher on hand.

I do not know if it is prohibited.

Usually meet good folks up there, but occasionally some dangerous yahoos.
