We ran into an official "bug" that only happens under extremely high load - my database people are working on it.

To the management:

This site is one of my favorites but it has taken me 7 minutes just to get here to post. Calguns is by far the slowest website I visit on a daily basis. Please get this fixed soon. The High Road and other forums work great. It might be time for a change of service.

Yeah, it's really bogged down with the guests running 2:1 to the registered users. Would making the entire forum viewable only to registered users help out at all?

I keep getting this msg,

Stop running this script?

A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly, , if it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive.

I press the yes and will run normnal for a couple of pages, the reappears.

OH....MY.....God!!! It took forever to get to the post. At least 10min.
Been happening alot and all day.

I am sure you have cleared your cache from the ACP, ran the analytics to
see your bw use, but this site is not video huge so that should not be an issue.
If so, you need to increase. I never had this much of a speed problem on forums I had. If I did, or, when I had problems, solve it in a day. This is the only thing I will be here for today, and I have avoided the site lately due to this.

If you have to, put up a sister forum, new, and transfer the data in, to have a fresh install!! do something! Please!

Taking several minutes per page load. I sure hope there is something planned. I'd read the first page of this thread, but it has been 5 minutes and it still hasn't opened. This issue has the potential to kill the forum long term

About an hour ago we got the patches installed to fix the database; we should now be able to handle ludicrous speed ( at the database ).

Course these new levels of concurrency are making every other aspect of this place crazy too, appservers and webservers need more horsepower again, now that the DB is keeping up.

if you value the forum, what it has to offer and the behind the scenes efforts it takes to keep it running - consider becoming a contributing member.

I used to spend a lot of time (and participation) for many years on a particular car forum - always contributed (monetarily as well as events and such), until it got bought by VB and it went to crap (I hardly visit that site anymore).

Become a contributing member to CGN and help the cause.

Well the main thing there is to notice this:

That's huge.
The monthly usage here is in multiple terrabytes, and usage is spiking right now. You don't really get much heavier servers than what is being used for CGN either.

We did not change the major version of the Forum.

Skins are the same on my end... Course I'm old school and selected the "Calguns 1.0" in the very bottom left side of this screen.
