On Tuesday, the South Dakota state legislature passed a bill allowing for permit-less concealed carrying. The bill now goes to the desk of Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD), who has already expressed support for the measure.

Since no one has posted that the Governor signed it today, I'll cross post from the 2019 Constitutional Carry thread:

Less than a month into office, Gov. Kristi Noem fulfilled one of her campaign promises on Thursday by signing the bill repealing the requirement into law. She said she was "proud" that it was the first bill she signed as governor. Republican legislators who championed the bills stood in a crowd behind her as she signed the bill at a desk in the Capitol Rotunda, applauding after her signature turned it into law.

"It's special for me to be signing a bill into law that protects our Second Amendment rights," Noem said afterward.

<snip>

Several bills regarding permitless concealed carry are still moving through the Legislature and Noem said the bills will continue to go through the committee vetting process.

Law enforcement didn't support the bill signed by Noem on Thursday, but they support a bill that is currently under consideration in the House that would restrict permitless concealed carry to South Dakota residents only and they continue to provide suggestions about the bills, Noem said.

Can we send this to our brothers & sisters who run this state in Sacramento to read?

I seriously want to know what they think of this.

Oh, I forgot California isn't part of the USA any longer.

Another reason to move to S.D. I can handle the weather better than people who want to take away something that evidently is a major problem for them.

I will enjoy Wind Cave National Park and Badlands National Park this summer even more now that I know I won't have to lock my gun up inside a locked trunk like California.

And Thank You for honoring my South Carolina CCW in reciprocity while it lasted....

Thank you South Dakota!!!

The weather did not appear to take away the joy and happiness of living in a free state based on the photos posted .
although I didn't see any outdoor pics, it would appear those happy prosperous people, are not living in tents and using public streets as a public toilet like many California cities.

Governor Kristi Noem

@govkristinoem
Our Founding Fathers believed so firmly in our right to bear arms that they enshrined it into the Constitution. Tomorrow, I will sign SB47 into law. This constitutional carry legislation will further protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding South Dakotans.

God bless the governor of South Dakota. When so many other states are looking so grim for gun rights currently, at least one elected official has the heart to support the 2nd.
