Cope's seems to have 10 round black mags in stock currently. $16.99 plus standard $9.95 shipping (so not too bad if you order 4-5 or more).

Not kits, but... CDNN has had BX-25's in stock lately for about $35 or two for $55 but not for California. Hot lips are cheap there as well.

They may have 10 rounders as well.

i've seen alot of bx-25 mags for sale in the classifieds as a "kit", pricey $50-60 each but worth it in my opinion

what are your experiences

I still have my old clear 25 round Butler Creek mags (four) that I got back when they were $20 or so at Wild Sports - with a Butler Creek loader. I think one mag out of the four is a little gummed up but the others are very reliable for tens of thousands of rounds. When I used to shoot two federal bulk packs each weekend, four with a loader was enough. I have more various mags now, but don't shoot anywhere near that volume. I had five ten rounders for my MarkII Gov Target to load a box at a time.

P.S. LAK SUPPLY site has the T.I. poly/stainless mag kits in stock. 26 left at 3:45pm 5-9-13. Also four of the Billet ones

44mag.com has 100+ units of Butler Creek Hotlips. I have heard of more people having issues with newer Hotlips, but no experience there - I just know they are lighter now.

I ordered two 10/22 10-round mags for my zombie green rifle on 3/26/2013 for $48 shipped directly from Ruger. I just received them today. More than I wanted to spend but now I have them.

For anyone in the Stockton area, Stockton Gun Exchange on Pacific Ave. had 6 in stock at $19.99. Pricey, but available.

Some overpriced ones at Ammo Depot in North Highlands for Sac area guys. $24.95 but they had 5 on the wall if you're desperate.

For my Marlin 795, I have 6 magazines. I had 4 because I thought I'd need 4 for an Appleseed Shoot (really, 2 is the minimum) then I panicked and bought two more when they happened to be at Big5.

I picked up my 10/22 rifle at Turners last friday 5/17/13 and they have plenty stock mags and they have the clear hot lips that lock together. They were $18.99 each.

From KY? Thats bad?

Yesterday I spent $12 and change to ship something that only weighed a few pounds about 100 miles from my house, it never even left the state. And that was the cheapest method!

I cringed at the copes $10 shipping, but realistically, I had to think "Would I pay a guy $10 to run down to the store and bring me back these magazines?"

Or "Would I pay a guy to drive from Kentucky (or wherever) to pick up these magazines that I can't find anywhere, and then drop them off at my doorstep .... for $10?"

I bought 5 to make it "worth it"... to absorb the shipping cost per magazine, though if you think about it, spending even more money to feel like I'm saving money is a bit silly. However, with the 5 I bought from Copes, and the one I got with the gun makes 6, which means I can load up two of those triple-mag thingies.

Well for the flat rate shipping say at copes and other places I do know what you are saying but when you think about the cost of gas it is not bad. I try to add a few other things so it does not seem too bad.

Cabelas here in WA has over 100+ Hot Lips on the shelves. Unfortunately they only had 1 Steel Lip(which I happened to pass up because it was clear and I want smoke).

Anyone know why Cabela's won't ship the 10-round rotary mags to California anymore?
ETA:
Quote:
Cabela's: Hi, my name is _____. How may I help you?
RS2: Hello. I was wondering why 10-round Ruger 10/22 magazines are no longer able to be shipped to California?
Cabela's: I'm sorry, that law was not decided by us. You will need to check locally for that information.
RS2: I'm not sure what you mean. 10-round magazines are legal in CA.
Cabela's: I'm sorry, I am not sure why a 10-round magazine would be restricted then. You can call in your order and we can attempt to put it through for you.
RS2: I'm still deciding on other things at the moment, but would that be something that Cabela's would look into fixing on the website?
Cabela's: We can check with our shipping department and see why it is being restricted.
RS2: California Penal Code 12020 has the relevant information, if they wished to look at it. That would be great, and thank you very much for the information!
Cabela's: You're welcome. Thank you for visiting Cabelas.com. Have a great day!
Try and call the order in then, I suppose: Clear 10-round 10/22 Mag - $23

I too found this interesting. They took my backorder for (2) of the standard black ones, supoasedly shipped them to me last thursday -- but over the weekend I tried to order a couple of the clear plastic and was kicked back as not California legal.

Cabela's e-mailed me about 10 minutes after my chat session to get the item number of the exact item so they could look into it. The black ones seem to ship fine, so it would seem they just need to fix the clear magazine restrictions.

This is a kind of funny. Rather than cleaning them, I'd just pick up a 10-22 magazine once in a while over the last 30 years. Now I know how to clean them, but still have quite a collection..

According to Cabela's as of 10:22AM, the problem should be getting fixed, or might already be fixed.

Back in stock at hawktech arms ($15.95).
http://www.hawktecharms.com/Ruger-Fa...-p/rug-bx1.htm

Along w/ clear ones for $19.95.
http://www.hawktecharms.com/Ruger-Fa...p/rug-bx1c.htm

Last time I ordered from them I got my magazines in 4 days w/ USPS for a measly $5 sumtin shipping fee

Thinking about picking up a couple of these too, might as well save on the shipping:
http://www.hawktecharms.com/10-22-Du...-p/elm-dmh.htm

Anyone here use these specific ones? And what do you think about them?
