Default Question about Winchester/NRA Pistol Qualification Program (Solved)

My wife likes standards, grades, and metrics. (We're engineers, what can I say.)

So, we're using the Winchester/NRA Qualification program to give us a series of tests to work through.

Made it through Marksman with no problem (10 targets with 10 shots in a 6" circle, standing, two hand grip)

Looking ahead at Marksman 1st class, the instructions are... unclear. I cut and paste below from their guide:

-------------------------------
Target: AP-1 or AP-2 precision target
This is conducted in two stages. Both
stages must be completed in the
same session to qualify as one
completed course of fire.
Stage 1 Strong Side: Five targets
with 10 shots in each, in 6 minutes.
Stage 2 Weak Side: Five targets with
10 shots in each, in 6 minutes.
A total of 10 shots per target.
Possible score per target: 100
Course of Fire and Rating
Requirements:
Shoot 10 targets, 5 with
a score of 46 or better and 5 with a
score of 56 or better.
The 10 targets
do not have to be fired in succession
-------------------------------

So, does this mean I have 6 minutes to put 10 shots into 1 target, then I switch hands, then I have another 6 to put another 10 shots into a 2nd target, repeat as needed?

Or does it mean I have 6 minutes to fire 50 rounds at 5 targets, then switch hands and repeat? Does that include pulling targets and reloading magazines?

and, am I reading it right, that you could shoot 10 pairs of targets (1 weak side, 1 strong side) and then pass this grade with all strong-sided targets?

Why don't you shoot USPSA or IDPA or Steel Challenge?

I'm an engineer too, but so what? Shooting from a static position doesn't mean much.........

1: can't just swing by a USPSA match after work
2: steel challenge is outside, and thus far away from my house and my job
3: because I'm doing this

Thanks for the help.

Turns out, they've updated the most recent printings (with a brown-shaded cover). It's 5 shots in 3 minutes, each side, for a total of 10 shots in 6 minutes at each target.
