Default When does SB 376 (5 sales per year) go into effect?

When does SB 376 go into effect? What sort of license is required? Full FFL or COE to sell out of state?

SB376 becomes effective January 1, 2020. PC26700 defines what is required to be “licensed.”

SB376 redefined infrequent as less than 6 firearm transactions per year and no more than 50 firearms in total per year. SB376 becomes effective January 1, 2020. SB61 made 1-in-30 days apply to semiautomatic centerfire firearms effective July 1, 2021.

Would this apply to sales made thru a FFL01 in another state? I need to thin the herd and 60 days might not be enough time to do it. I've got some curio and relic bolt action rifles I want to sell.

Applies to firearm transfers within CA.

Is selling a firearm to an FFL/dealer considered a "transaction" for the purposes of this law?

If the FFL/dealer is not in California, there's no way for California to know.

Within California is a different subject.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I’m talking about selling firearms to a dealer/FFL within CA. Is it a “transfer” if it goes into an FFL’s inventory? And what about pawn shops?

Is the 50 firearms limit a lifetime cap? If so, would sales completed before the law goes into effect count toward that cap? Thanks.

Default Cheap firearms

We’re probably going to have a glut of cheap firearms here shortly if a whole lot of people try to “thin the herd”

This bill would redefine “infrequent” to mean less than 6 firearm transactions per calendar year, regardless of the type of firearm, and no more than 50 total firearms within those transactions.
