Using my 24 inch Stag bull barrel upper with my Grizzly lower when I want to reach way out and touch far away objects. Here it is at Coalinga touching the rams at 300 meters. Really nice when you have the range to myself and my buddy Bruce.

Just a bit down range, you can just make out my orange targets

I'm typically "Team Mod 0" when it comes to the MK12, but that Mod 1 "Miller" rifle is friggin awesome! Very nice build.

Does it have to have a bipod to be an SPR? I kind of don't want to put one on.

Almost finished with this build just waiting on an Ops Inc. brake, Mlok bipod adapter, and considering going with a collapsible Magpul STR stock instead of the A2. Haven't decided on that one yet. Can't wait to see how it shoots, planning on loading up some 77 gr. match projectiles and doing some load development for it.

Parts list

White Oak 18" SPR Rifle length 1/7 223 wylde chamber barrel
AR Stoner Mil Spec upper
BCM FDE Ion Bonded BCG
A2 Flash Hider (soon to be ops inc brake)
Geissele Charging Handle DDC
Geissele Super Gas Block
Geissele DDC 15" MK8 SMR
Geissele 2 stage National Match Match Rifle Trigger
Armalite Lower
A2 stock (might get replaced with Magpul STR)
Harris Bipod
Magpul MIAD
Phase 5 BAD lever
Spikes Billet Trigger Guard
Larue SPR 1.5 QD scope mount
Leupold Mark AR mod 1 3-9x40

Very Nice!! Have you shot the WOA barrel yet? That is the exact barrel I have been looking at. Your rifle has me reconsidering my 12 inch handguard choice.

What muzzle devices are those? Are they open in front? Please tell me you are a CA resident and those are "flash hiders". I would love to make a carbine that used a 6-10"-ish barrel with something like that silver soldered on under a 12-15" smooth sided hand guard.

Sorry. They are real suppressors. Im up in WA. The old retro m4s used something similar to what you are looking for, not as fat as my cans but probably just as long.

rats.

I want fat.

I could make my own flash hider, but I have no idea if "anyone" would look at my own homemade flash suppressor and decide it's not in fact a flash suppressor. Buying a commercial product would be safer.

Thanks for getting back to me. Nice rifles.

My original SPR build from page 1 (post #31) of this thread after nearly 7 years and many, many changes and rebuilds. I've built several more SPR's since then, but this continues to be one of my favorites to shoot:

Looking good so far. (Obviously mine will be SPR concept, not a clone).

Here is my work in progress. Not in the photo are the small parts I have and the Weaver Tactical 2-10 w/LaRue mount that should be here tomorrow. Just need a charging handle, barrel and trigger group.

Heading off to be cerakoted next week.

Thanks. Told the guy to keep it earth tones and multi-cam-ish but to use his artistic creativity. So I'm not really sure.

My MK12 Mod1ish take:

Spike's Lower
Centurion Upper
Badger Unimount
Vortex 2.5x10 FFP Pst
Geissele SSA-E
Geissele ambi charging handle
Sopmod stock

Not a true-to-spec representation. But I don't care. I don't have a beard and I work in an office.
