Not technically a pistol as it's length is longer than 26", but I'll throw it in. We should start a "stock less firearms" picture thread

Yep, 300 AAC Blackout by Red X Arms. They have 7.5 and 9 and I think some longer ones below 16 also.

If we start a "stockless firearms" thread then we would miss beauties like your setup. You have an eye candy there.

Picked the upper up today. 10.3" Mk18. Had an 80% I had done a few years ago collecting dust. After seeing all these crazy nice looking ar-pistols with the sig brace I got bit by the bug to build one befor they all get banned or harder to come by with new laws.

Just needs all the supporting mods to build it. And figure out what buffer tube to get, probably the kak since I'm planning on going with a sig brace.

Alright so I've decided on going 10.5 for my pistol build.

Now what do you guys think?

Go MK18 DD complete upper??

-Or-

PSA 10.5 with a Gissele 10" rail and BCM BCG??

Both going to come around the $950 mark when finished. MK18 is ready out of the box and $950 from the start, the PSA is $500 here, $200 there, $100 there. So gives me time to shoot and build up, than save my pennies before I can get the upper like the MK18.

What would you guys go with?

Maybe post a thread asking this question rather than starting a conversation in a picture thread?

You can go PSA and wait a month and possibly get the wrong parts shipped.

Or go DD which is one of the nicest quality uppers I've owned. I picked mine up same day at RG. It's going to be complete (minus sights) and the quality will be better then most stuff out there.

Of course, to get over 26" that has to include pinning the muzzle device. Screwed on does not add to length.

That would depend on how long it is to the threads to begin with. You would only need to pin it if you needed that to count toward getting to 26", which is what I think you meant. End of extension to threads I'm at 26 1/4". The KAK sig buffer tube helps get it there without pinning it with a 10.3" barrel.

I see a lot of Noveske Flaming Pigs in this thread. Are y'all removing the interior chamber or just being scofflaws? IIRC they are classed as flash hiders by the DOJ and therefore are illegal in CA.

you recall incorrect incorrectly. Flash hiders are only a prohibited feature on centerfire semi-automatic rifles that have a detachable magazine.

I got my V-RS rail in. The Troy Claymore comes right to the edge of the upper portion, and I love the look. MBUS Pro collapsed for the sleek effect. My Benchmade 8600 wanted in the picture too I suppose.

I opted against the sig brace even though I already bought one, with the kak buffer tube made for it. Just seems way too gray area. I bought it like everyone else. Intended to be shouldered. It's solid, no flex, more comfy and bigger then a regular stock. It actually hurts to stick your arm in it since there's no flex. Seems sketchy after reading some of the smarter calgunners posts.

I bought the thordsen postol kit. Holy heck. It's equally as comfy, maybe even better overall then the sig brace. Less risky in the back of my mind as well.

Here's it as of today, almost completed. I just need to go to RG and get some kns pins to finish the LPK and some buis's.

Main parts:
Daniel defence mk18 10.3 upper
Kineti-tech 2 piece muzzle brake
Quenten defence 80% billet lower
Thordsen custom advanced qd pistol kit

Very cool. I am torn between my foam and going with one of theirs, but I'd have to replace my buffer tube and everything. I loved their FRS-15 on my old Cali rifle build. However I agree, the Sig brace isn't worth it, but I'm not worried about a legal gray area. I just don't like the idea of a bunch of extra plastic hanging on my pistol. I don't fire it so close to my shoulder that I could fire it like a rifle, and the recoil isn't heavy even with 300 AAC BLK. I just see negatives with the Sig, but your Thordsen setup is nice.
