Nope, no gap under the rear sight base. That one was built as a 91/30.

New Addition- M-44
Today my M-44 from SOG showed up. The pics below are just how it came out of the box. It's a 1945 IZZY with various markings on the stock. I tried to get some pics so hope they show OK.
New to Mosins so not sure what I have here. Appreciate any feedback from you folks in the know. Thanks -178S |

Here's mine, cheap one i picked up at Big5 a few years back, ended up getting it for around $80. Used a heat gun to bring all the cosmo to the surface in the stock wiped it down, sanded, and applied a few coats of stock oil.

Ex-drag or not, that one is gorgeous! Love how it comes with the correct stock too. I'm enjoying looking at it...

Well here is my contribution to the thread...
I picked up a Mosin yesterday and took some pictures today while I did a full inspection and minor cleaning (it was cleaned by previous owner). Excuse the picture quality, I'm using my Iphone and the lighting in my apt sucks for pictures... This is my first Mosin, I just got it, I have not shot it yet, but I'm already wanting another one. It's a solid rifle and I cannot wait to take it out. 1931 Tula hex receiver model M91/30 Mosin-Nagant. The receiver stamp says 1932 but if you look closely, it's actually double stamped with a 2 over the 1 (error?). Confirmed by rear tang stamp of 31 (for 1931).

Oh. Well that's my ignorance for you, but at any rate, I like the shorter barrels. Too bad nothing still costs $79 these days... Especially with tax and DROS.
