Default Is the panic over? Turner's ad has a Bushmater for $899

Has the silliness officially come to an end? Will jokers in the Marketplace stop selling their Deltons w/ two 30 rnd rebuilds for $1500-$2500?

ad

*sigh* I do miss Turners for the deals.

The prices are getting better but not where they used to be, if you can wait I would.

oh, I am not buying. Just got sidetracked and happened to look at the ad and was pleasantly surprised by what seemed to be reasonable prices. And hopeful that I will able to piece together my 6.8 by Christmas now that parts are a'flowing again.

No, it's not over. But it does seem to be calming down, but only a bit. I know distributors and gun shops nation wide are starting to receive product, however they all still have very limited stock.

I think with the federal legislation being put on ice, the supply and demand economics will help prices fall, but I think once again we'll see a price increase across the board vs. 2012 prices. Every time these events occur, the prices do fall, but not back to "what they used to be".

In states like California we're a long way from "returning to normal". In fact, by the end of 2013 "normal" might just be redefined here in California with the myriad of absurd legislation attempting to be written into law.

I doubt that they're selling. I find it funny though, to see noobs still listing their average ARs at panic prices. I just want to walk all over those listings and tell them what's what. Don't they realize that this ship has sailed couple of months ago?

I always knew prices would come down, now if I can just save up enough to buy a quality ar-15 before January 1st 2013. I have a frat brother that paid $1200 for a Windham and a few accesories I tried to warn him but at least now I have another shooting buddy.

it's getting better, not ALOT better, but enough where if you keep searching, you will find what you get, not being empty handed all the time like 5 or 6 months ago

I noticed last week when I jailed an M&P15-22 at turners (a PPT) they had several ar's in the rack, prices looked moderate, and they had been there several days. and there was no mad rush to buy either. what I'm hoping is they still have the stripped lowers in stock when I pick it up sunday. I'll probably get one of those. until it's built, it's really not a semi-auto anything, or whatever.

there's no mad scramble anymore and looking at gunbroker kinda confirms that. also look at marketplace too. first three pages, 20+ for sale. 22's are slowly trickling back into stores. it'll be a while and won't be down to pre days, but the real threat was nationally and since we're only 1 of 50, kalifornia won't have the impact nationally. so other than lowers or whole guns, parts shouldn't be problematic soon in the near future.

Stripped S&W M&P-15 lower receiver for $159.99.
A month back those were about $250.

Yes, "he" and "they" got themselves in trouble. Let's see how it shakes out.

Back on topic, I was at turners last night. They had lots or AR's on the rack. The bushmaster for $899 is a carbon 15. They used to go for $599 if my memory is correct. No 223 in stock, some hunting ammo, ok amount of 12 ga, lots of 20 ga, no 22 LR.

I almost bought 22 LR today on cabelas website. It was out of stock before I could enter my credit card info.

Too all AR lovers. If you had to choose between the Bushmaster or the S&W (add linked above) which one would it be?

I think the differencs are purely aesthetic but do both companies have similar warranties? S&W has excellent warranty. I used it a few times and was very happy with their CS.

I have the M&P and the M&P letters on the left side of the receiver are very faint, not bold like on many newer ones. I prefer the least amount of white lettering.

The bushmaster lower is a bit more cool looking to me. I like their logo. My friend recently bought one and its a nice light carbine with carry handle upper.

Panic is not over yet but it is slowing down, that Bushy that's $899 is the Carbon-15, that gun should be $200 less, and their S&W MP-15 is also $899, that used to go for $670, so yes, much better, but not back to pre panic prices. But who knows, this might be the new bottom prices.

Panic "with rifles" will not officially end in Cali until 2014... it may slow down a bit. (as Rifle registration starts for new purchases and transfers after Jan 1...)

There is also the Ammo tax proposed...

S&W, the BM is a carbon plastic one. The S&W is worth every penny, the Colt is over priced by about $300

Just yesterday at Sportsmans Warehouse in Roseville, they had a large shipment of ammo, moire than I have seen since January. They had .223 in Fionchi, Winchester, and Tulammo. They had 9mm in Winchester value packs and American Eagle. They had plenty of .40, .45, .380.

They also changed their policy from three boxes to three boxes per caliber. That says something right there.

That's a big improvement, too bad the M&P sport has an "8" where there should be a "6"...

I may have to go grab one of those S&W lowers just to throw in the safe.
