Default Wal-Mart Ammo: Current Stock (Please Post Here) (NorCal/ Central/ San Diego)

Hi All,

Thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where members can post if they see ammo at their local Walmart whenever they visit.

Please lets us know the location, ammo type, and how much they might have on hand. Even letting us know that there was no ammo at the time of your visit is quite helpful. If it helps to simplify things, below is a template below you can copy and use:

Location:
(ex: Paramount)

Time of visit:
(ex: 8:30 pm)

Ammo and Quantity: (ex: 40 boxes of 9mm and 10 boxes of .223)

Thanks!

I've been told that he stock tracker on walmart.com is actually fairly accurate regarding ammo. If you type in your zip code you can see who has certain packs in stock. I've been looking for the 100rd Federal value packs or 9,40, or 45 for the last few days.

That looks like Tulammo .223 up there, was it?

We need some sort of Walmart supply chain/trade program between Calgunners haha. Buy/trade from the stores that get certain items in for each other.

I was told the complete opposite. I went to the Rancho store and the employee told me that the ammo tracker is not accurate, that it is not always updated. I was also told at the chino store that since people take up all the ammo soon as they stock it that they might be implementing a "limit" on how much ammo you can buy. Might be a good idea since some people know when ammo is coming in or have employees give them a heads up when its coming in.

^^^ THIS ^^^

Location:

Time of visit:
7:30 pm, 01/22/13

Ammo and Quantity: Empty and eerily similiar to the Fairfield pix, just a box or two of some odd rimfire ammo

NOTE: The last time I purchased ammo here was on 1/18/13 and lucky enough to walk in as the clerk was stacking Remington 22LR. Spoke to a buddy that Federal 9mm came in on 1/22/13 but was gone within minutes.

I was at the vacaville walmart about a week ago and the reason the ammo shelf is empty is because someone broke the glass door. If you want something, ask the guy and he'll look behind the counter. He sold me 4 boxes of Tula 7.62x39 for $5.xx ea and 2 boxes of remington 170gr 30-30 for ~$16-17ea.

i dont think so, i know my local Wallyworld carries Federal 550 and Winchester 555 bulk .22 (just saw some 550 last friday) but the online stock check say my store does not even carry it.. so i would not bet on the online to be 100%

Thank you all for the updates. Please keep them coming whenever you go. Even letting us know that there is no ammo at a location is quite helpful.

My experience with the online inventory has been the same as you guys, which is what led to creating this thread.

Last week, I made a 9:30 pm dash to the Cerritos location after searching the website, which showed that there was "Limited Stock". I got there and the guy working in the sports section told me they'd been sold out for weeks and "scavengers" were showing up every day to buy what they could. When I told him about the status on the website, he sounded quite surprised and was apologetic.

Hate to say it, but I can't help but wonder if there are employees who may be setting ammo aside for themselves and telling customers they are sold out.

Temecula 79S around 430pm. They didn't have much of anything but a few boxes of 22-250, (8) boxes of 7mm, and I think around (4) boxes of .270. I do know that the San Clemente one had about (20) boxes of .45 a few days ago. So they are stocking the shelves here and there but you just have to be one of the "scavengers" they talk about.

Default 9mm and .22 ammo.

Thanks for the continued posts.

I just called a few local Wal-Marts regarding 9mm and .22 lr. The only place that has anything is the Westminster location: .22 mini mags for $8.99 per box; three box limit.

If it helps, Buena Park and Anaheim have no 9mm and .22 ammo at this time. Norwalk location does not carry ammo.

I went to the Walmart in Corona on Ontario and she told me the government has locked up their supply that they haven't received any in months. Kinda strange as the other Walmart in Corona off McKinley had supply of it. Needless to say the shelves were empty at the Ontario store

Went to my local Wal-Mart and the guy said its being sent out of the warehouse as they receive it. Very hit and miss. Deliveries everyday.

No, it isn't. I was there today, for something else, but as always lately I checked the ammo. The person at the register was explaining to a customer that the online system does not keep up at real time and that has been causing problems for them because people look online and come in to find an empty shelf.

I got 2 boxes of .45 and 1 of 9mm.
They were stocking the .45, but the 9mm was behind the counter. 3 box limit.
Have to ask. It was about 5pm.

I too have been looking for those same packs minus.45, for the last few months! Then gave up after all the craze! :-(

Aero Drive has .223, 3 box limit as of 9 tonight.
Looked like a new shipment of ammo as the dude was unpacking cardboard boxes.

They also had decent amounts of 9mm. A bunch of 115gr 50rd packs, and a few 100rd packs. He had boxes on the floor, who knows what else was in there. Stopped by Shawline Walmart after that, they had no handgun ammo.
