only photo of all the colts together

2 Ser 80 MKIVs, 1 Lightweight commander blue. Brite stainless Delta, when i bought the Delta, the shop alss had a used Delta gold cup blue same seller. $200 more. like a retard i didnt buy it. also I sold a delta back in the day in a fit of serious stupidity coinciding with a cash deficit. who knew then theyd be impossible to get. Combat Special is a 1 of 500 and a parked 1991A1 commander. i'm probly gonna send one of the series 80s to Colts for the model O package. every time i get $500 or so extra togther i end up buying another gun and not sending it to Colts... coulda had a stainless CGNM for under 1k last year.. again still kicking myself picking up a sig 228 out of 10 day hell tomorrow ! if i could just find a 38 super commander under in PRK >>>

Default Colt Series 80 - Yost-Bonitz 1* Elite(One-***-To-Risk)

Yost-Bonitz customized 1* (One ***-To-Risk) Elite Colt Series 80 1911.

I picked up this baby from a consignment. I freaking LOVE IT! I'm a huge fan of the LTW forums and always drooled at these custom builds shown off there.

Previous owner put only about 400-500 rounds through it, it was a bit dirty but I gave it some real thorough TLC with some poly-safe Gunscrubber, Weaponshield CLP, and Brian Enos' Slide-Glide all over. I love keeping EVERY firearm I own pristine and lick-ably clean.

I took these photos with my Droid Incredible phone, so they're lousy. But it shows you the cool 1* logo and the fit and finish of the barrel and bushing and all the parts.

After having this in my hands, I'm thoroughly convinced I'll probably only buy 1911s from now on. Preferably custom Colts

It was Ade's Gun Shop in Orange, So Cal. I was EXTREMELY suspicious of this when I saw it, as I honestly can't fathom why someone would want to get rid of their YoBo. A few simple questions yielded that the seller had brought in well over a dozen guns (some very nice Colts, I may add) to sell, implying he probably needed the money.

I left the shop after handling it and inspecting and went back 5 minutes later while biting my fingernails, waiting at the drive-thru at McDonalds, agonizing at the thought of someone else laying their hands on that YoBo 1* Colt, and went back and laid down the plastic.

Suffice to say, I had several pangs of buyer's remorse on the drive home and forgot about it for 10 days. When I went to pick her up my face has been plastered with the kind of grin you get when you've experienced your first time. With a Colt that is

You were one of the most excited pick-ups I'd seen in a while. I'm glad you found something you liked in our selection.

Thanks Kevin. You guys have a large and varied collection of consignments to begin with. I'll be making it a point to drop by whenever I'm the area to browse and play Russian Roulette with my wallet :P The other Colt Mark IV rollmarked Series 80 that's sitting in the case is semi-angering me too but alas gotta watch my budget.

For others reading, I can't recommend Ade's Gun Shop enough. Fantastic people, service, and shop.

serious score on a nice gun. my luck, the gun would have been gone in the 5 mins to go to McD. I have been burned WAY too many times about streessing over a purchase only to go back later that day or the next day or 2 and its gone. I now just lay the money down if its something i kinda want at all and its tough to get ( read: off roster!) or rare unless its completely insanely overpriced.

Only a 1000 were made from 68-70 when Colt was testing the collet bushing to reduce the amount of time it took to hand fit and increase out of the box accuracy.

Nicer shooter trendkill! Heres one similar to yours that feeds empty cases with an OTW trigger by Jim Hoag and Kings.

Excuse the Ruger and the RIA. Somewhat modified 1991 and an interesting milspec series 80. supposedly for a foreign military contract.

It's not original but I still like it and think it's purdy. Frame dates to 1918.

For the set, maybe 2-2.5k, plus or minus. Probably more locally, given regional bias. Commemoratives are never worth as much as NIB originals in the long run.
