Rodney, what type of Calguns promotional items do you have this time of year, any hoodies or sweatshirts? I'd be interested if you have any.

I can order a hoodie/sweater for you. What size. Do you prefer black or royal blue? I'm waiting on a tshirt for another Gunner as well. If I can order before shipping, I don't have to pay another shipping fee. I believe the hoodies/sweaters are a $25 donation. I've been thinking of getting a hoodie for myself also.

PM me if you would like a hoodie or a zip up sweater.

All Calguns gatherings are FAMILY FRIENDLY. That means everyone is welcome. Spouses, kids with parental supervision, the guy next door, whom-ever.

(If you bring your kids, double up on ear protection - foamies plus muffs. Kid's ears are really sensitive and while they may not mind the noise, it isn't good for them...)

SGC will be providing a meeting room and reserving 5 lanes in our 50-yd rifle range for the CGSSA New Years Day Shoot. Event participants will be charged a flat $17 range fee. Of course, members will shoot at their normal rates of free! Eye and ear protection will be provided to all CGSSA event participants.

New shooters to SGC will need to fill out safety waivers and watch a quick, 2 min safety video. I will be collecting your Driver's Licenses before we begin. Please note that we follow NRA guidelines for minors; children ages 12+ may shoot in the ranges.

After the shoot is over and if there is enough interest, we can go through a demo of our VR Simulation Room. We utilize two actual Glock 22 pistols converted to accept CO2 to actuate the slide and simulate live fire; Blackhawk Serpa holsters are utilized for drawing. The AI is reactive to your commands in the scenario/training modes; these give you an insight into LE or SD situations. Night/flashlight using a Surefire G2 and OC/pepper spray scenarios are also available as well as children's and zombie themed games. The zombie flashlight game is actually quite intense.

Please review our range rules on our website ahead of time. Main items are to wear closed toed shoes and no steel core ammo. If you bring shotguns, it's slugs only. Please arrive with your firearms in locked cases; simply locking the zippers to your bags containing firearms is sufficient unless you prefer to lock each individual case.

I will be running the event and will be your dedicated RSO. Let Rodney or myself know if you have any questions. We'll see you there.

Man, I wish I saw this before. I just broke my first handgun out of jail on Sunday and went into SGC yesterday for the first time. I might stop by. Funds are at a shortage after Christmas and I already went this week, but I do have about 80 rounds of 9mm left...

In passing, the Sacramento Gun Club has a feedback forum

Hi Bonnie. I can meet at Perkos if you or anyone else is up for it. How does 730ish sound. Let me know. Probably should check if they are open though. I'll verify shortly.

Update: Perkos opens at 7am tomorrow. Let me know if you want to meet.

Perko's is open at 7 am on NYD. I can't make it to breakfast this time, but full tummies make happy shooters...

Dang, well maybe you can make it to the next one.

On a different note, OK everybody go ahead and Shame ME!! The problem that I was having today with Light Strikes with my new AR was caused by Human "ME" Error. Being that this was my first AR Build I now know that I had my Hammer Spring in backwards. Lesson Learned!!

Yes I did just say that here for all to see!!

That wasn't as bad as the time I called the range safety to ask why my weapon wouldn't shoot. Was a it a malfunction, a double or triple jam?

It was on safe.

Curious as to where to order the t-shirts in the above post. I went to the Calguns online store but all I found were items with a small patch on the front.

Note to everyone. Please do NOT post pictures of anyone at a shoot ANYWHERE, without their express permission. Actually, don't even photograph anyone at a shoot without their express permission.

Not everyone wants their families, friends, co-workers or neighbors to know they shoot, so please don't out people on Facebook or anywhere else.

Before taking pictures, Sac Gun Club asked permission. I received confirmation from every Gunner that was present at the time. All agreed that it was OK for SGC to take photos as long as they didn't take any front facing photos.

I was there and wasn't asked. And someone did have a camera in his hand while I was shooting.... It never occurred to me that they would post the pics, and that's my bad. It won't happen again.

So I'm putting everone on notice, SGC and CGN alike. Don't take my picture at the range and don't EVER post one online.

Relax folks.

I knew that Bonnie didn't want to be photographed; She never has. Our historian was advised of this and did not take any photos of her.

Rodney and I were the only two to have our mugs taken. When reviewing the proofs with our historian, he pointed out that my chins doubled if not tripled when I smile. Those will likely never reach the public eye.

This is precisely the place to raise such issues as shooters being photographed and posted. Many new people come to shoots and might not want to be posted so their co workers can see. I made an issue out of my being photographed, so no one does. But that doesn't protect the other guy...

It is not the privilege of anyone to photograph someone else, shooting or not, and post it on the net. Not Facebook, not anywhere. SGC ought to be aware that it is not their privilege to use photos of members on the web, just because it is the club's property. Some of us think that written permission to photo and post should be required. One woman I know personally had her photo posted on on SGC's Facebook page without her permission, and is really pretty unhappy about it.

Let's not get crazy. The New Year's Day shoot was great fun, lots of people turned out, even first thing in the morning. And we're gonna have more and more shoots, so hurrah !

SGC did ask everyone they were taking pictures of if it was OK or not before any pictures were taken.

I thought it was a great touch. The historian at the SGC is a really great photographer.

Thanks again to the guys a SGC!

At many of these places we are in "public" and I see people taking pictures and video all the time on their cell phones. No written consent is required to post a picture of you online when you are in public. If someone does not want to be photographed they need to be cognizant the best they can of what is going on around them as I assume most of these cell phone shots end up on social media.
