it will pass. find a spot you can shoot with freedom. load several mags lock and load then dump the rounds as fast as you can. this will cure your gun anxiety.

Fist of all, it's GOOD to have a healthy respect for the firearm & ammo that goes in it. I think your decision to take the beginner class on handling your pistol is a GREAT idea! This will help you develop confidence when handling the gun as well as answering a lot of questions you might have. EVERYONE who buys their fist gun should get some basic instruction, IMO.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your gun, and all the ones you'll inevitably end up acquiring in the years to come!

Welcome. Just use common sense and some caution. Pretty hard to set one off when not in the gun.

When I was young, had a neighbor kid that used to poke a hole in the side of .22lr with a hammer and nail, to get at the powder and burn it. Not smart, but to my knowledge he never had one go off.

It's extremely hard to accidentally set off round. Even if you manage to do so, the round won't really do anything unless it's in some sort of container that can take some large amount of pressure.

Like, try throwing a few rounds into a fire and see what happens. Umm, actually don't do that. But if you were to do that, it would just pop and that's all.

Welcome to the forum! Enjoy your M&P, it's a great gun. Like the others have said, bullets are hard to set off accidentally. Plus, your new gun has multiple safeties built into it so a deliberate (Read: relatively heavy) trigger pull must be applied in order to set off the round.

Have fun!

I remember being nervous the first time I got behind the wheel of a car. It just take familiarity to get over it. Follow firearms safety guidelines, and use the tool. In time you will become comfortable - though always remain cautious. Best of luck. Welcome aboard.

Well, keep in mind that a lot of people fill an ammo box full of loose rounds, throw it in the back of a truck, go bouncing around all over hell's half acre off roading to get to favorite shooting spots and they do this thousands of times and not once (that I've ever heard of) has anyone set off a round.
