I trashed my rear sight getting it off because I am a moron, and wouldn't go look it up online.

If you are talking about the rear sight, it is being held in by a leaf spring underneath it. Take a screwdriver and push the front end of the spring (towards the barrel end of the gun) down. Now you just push down on the reas sight and slide it out to the rear of the rifle. That is it. I whish Tech Sights would have a better diagram of how to do this. I thought that it was held in by a cross pin, and pounded away at it for half an hour with a punch and hammer. The little metal trunions on the sides of the rear leaf were pounded almost flat by the time I was done. THAT was lots of fun to get out...

I ended up pushing down on the spring, and had Mrs. Monkeyboy pulling on the rear sight leaf with a pair of vise grips.
