Default UTAS UTS-15

Here is a cheesy iphone picture of my UTS-15. I want to be clear, this is the most up to date UTS-15. Night and day from the Youtube member "Nutinfancy". My UTS-15 has about 6 updates from his old first generation run through. Currently zero issues with current model and to me his video was good for November 2012 but not even close to end of Feb-March 2013. Unfortunatly he bought a UTS-15 that was not 100% complete. We saw the same or similar issues a few years back with the KRISS Super V. I had 3 of them and all had buffer pad issues which TDI updated at the time with the new larger green pad upgrade. All new weapons have issues out of the box, should they? No, but it is reality.

Tomorrow my Hk pistol grip from my Hk 416 goes on this. I have a Comp M4 as well.

Agreed. I am use to my FN FS2000 so I like the shorter stance with this but it has the KRISS Super V feel to it. Kinda reminds me of the pulse rifle from the movie "Aliens"....lol

It ran me $1349, no tax. $25 for background check and paperwork. $190 for red dot, $200 in ammo, and $80 for Hk grip...

So not to bad.

Sounds like a good deal to me for what the weapon system is capable of.

I bought mine from Massachusetts and had it shipped to FFL. They had 7 of current generation and 6 went in 4 days.

Yesterday I put my Hk 416 grip on and its so much more comfortable. Its amazing. Longer and thicker grip.

damn, that looks good... I was in tears watching that Nutnfancy video... because I thought this shotgun looked killer. Of course its not everyones cup of tea but who cares? Great looking gun, I couldnt shell out that kind of cash for it but I am happy to see the pics of those who can! haha. I am waiting for a Mossberg 590a1 Blackwater 20in barrel I have on order from the factory... My first shotgun... its been about 6 weeks. Keeping fingers crossed that it will ship soon. Great gun brother, thank you for posting pics. enjoy your Sunday, be blessed

Thanks for the good words. Much appreciated.

I saw Nutnfancys video as well before I bought it and I saw a similar one before the KRISS Super V was released years ago and took a chance on that one and it was fine. Same can be said for this one. Some guys want a gun so early, most of the kinks aren't out (they should be) and thus they get a gun that is incomplete and claim it's the final model. Far from the truth. They (some gun owners having to have it early/now) in their awesome wisdom (joking here) want a first run gun. History shows those are sometimes horrible representations of the final gun, thus Nutnfancy had an incomplete first run through and not the actual CURRENT representation model.

I am sorry he spent that kind of money and had a lemon gun. I spent the same money and have ZERO issues and none that Nutnfancy had/has.

Very easily. In the video you can see items that aren't on my gun or some times that are on my gun that aren't on his in the video..

The selector switch is metal.
There is no opening on top to see shotgun shells now. Its all metal and solid. Its a solid tube with very small openings on the sides. Its very solid now.
There is a metal piece that "Nutfancy" said was plastic and it is now aluminum.
The rail can be bought in hard plastic or metal now.

Thanks. I found one shop that has one in stock for $1200 plus tax.. Its in Mass.

I switched out the Hk grip for a simple larger Tapco one. Much better. I also added Magpul Mbus and I went with a C-more and looking at picking up a Trijicon SRS02....

City Arms @ Pacifica, CA gets them in pairs. Seems as if they get pairs once a month or so. Price was $1,199 w/o DROS & tax. But whenever I see them, usually 2 customers already looking at them and eventually buy....

Next time, if a customer is looking at one. I'm going to yell it out.. "I ddon't need to check it out.. I'll buy it right now. CASH!!!"

After watching the review/use by hickock45 and fpsrusky I really dont care for this gun.

Has anyone else had better luck with it?

If you havent seen those vids, the thing looks to be a jamm-o-matic gimmick.

-edit

I read it has been updated, but Im wondering if its the overall design, not just some plastic pieces that were the issue.

Well maybe you should thank Nutn and all the others who needed it now for RD'ing this gun for you. Be glad they got ahold of them early and they suffered through all the BS so you could get a , seriously?, 7th gen version that feels good.

Personally I would be wary of any company that lets an end product be sold, at a hefty price point, that is not the "finished version".

Run it in a couple combat shotgun classes and then let us know how improved it is.

That was the problem. Once someone asked to check it out, it wasn't leaving their hands.

So, I wouldn't know how the UTS would feel... I'd like to though..

Nobody said 7th. I said second generation. Thats common just like the KRISS Super V from a few years back. They went through several updates/generations before they got it right.

Colt AR15s are back down here to prepanic prices of $1300-$1600. I may trade for one or a KRISS.

Its now time for some track and back hills fun...
