Norcal Walmart ammo in stock
I've seem some threads about the ammo availability in Walmarts in the east bay and down south so I figured that i would start one for us up a little father north. I check stores in Chico and Oroville almost daily so I'll report what I find and anybody else is free to add their finds as well. I stopped by Oroville Walmart today around 9:00 am and they had about 10 50 round boxes of WWB IN 9mm they also had about 5 of the federal 100 round value packs of 9mm. They had a few other boxes of handgun ammo but it was the expensive sd ammo and i didn't really pay much attention. I don't shoot 9mm so this didn't help me out, but hopefully one of you guys can go get some of it!

Thanks for the heads up! I was down there a few days before Christmas and there shelves were pretty bare. The last few days it seems like there has been more ammo on the shelves, maybe some sense of normalcy is returning... We can only hope!

I check the Roseville Walmart 2-3 times a week in the morning on the way to work. I got three 100 rnd boxes of federal 9mm this morning and there were 4 boxes left and I am sure the two guys behind me got the rest. By the time I could post anything, it will already be gone.
I find .223 once a week now but at three boxes of 20 I am shooting 4 times as much each week as I am able to buy. They always seem to have some 40 cal. Last edited by mshill; 02-11-2013 at 2:17 PM.. |

Yesterday the Rohnert Park store had a few boxes of .243 and .270. That's all.

I checked chico Walmart a little while ago and they still had lots of hunting calibers and about 10 boxes of federal 5.56, it probably didn't last long though with the crowd waiting for the clerk to open the cabinet.

I have been checking the ones in Yuba City, about 6 AM weekdays and the Woodland one about noon. No luck so far. |

Chico had about 20 boxes of 100 round Winchester white box value packs in .45, they also had about 3 boxes left of .40 value packs. That was it for the handgun ammo, but they have lots of hunting calibers left. The .40 was $34, and i forgot to check the price on .45. Hope thishelps someone out.

Manteca, CA Walmart has a LOT of things coming in daily it seems. I've gotten 600 rounds of .40 FMJ and 100 rounds of .40 JHP. Also 100 rounds of 9mm JHP.
There is a guy in sporting goods, John, who literally gave me a copy of their manifest for today (last night around 5pm PST). If you ask him, he will let you see it every time. 209-824-2000 is their number.

You just gotta find your guy lol...
I was always told they load the shelves around 4am-ish...this guys said at 8:00pm they can start pulling stock "to be honest" (as he put it).... Manteca was getting some more .45 JHP and FMJ. Also the bulk 100 winchester packs of FMJ .40....some 9mm too if I remember right.

By the way, if anyone thinks walmart is going to stop selling ammo, that is just a bad rumor per 3 store managers i talked to in san joaquin, they are definitely going to keep selling its just short supply.

Though of course I happen to live smack dab in the middle of the "ammo desert" of Walmarts in the Bay Area that do not sell ammo. Nearest location I could feasibly go to that sells ammo is at least a 50 minute drive if there's no traffic....... |

Stopped by chico Walmart a few Minutes ago and they are pretty well stocked on 9mm, .40 and .223. They had 11 of the 250 round umc in 9mm for $63. They also had about 20 of the 50 round boxes of wwb in 9 for $13.27. About 15 Boxes of .40 50 round wwb for $19.27. And about 15 of the 50 round value packs of Remington .223 for $25. There was quite a bit of other ammo, but this was the popular stuff.

Was on my way back down to the eastbay from davis yesterday. Hit all 4 walmarts along the way (Dixon, Vacaville, Fairfield, American Canyon) and none had any popular calibers. Vacaville did have some 00 buck but that was the nly thing worth mentioning.
Walmart has some sort of agreement with Alameda and Contra Costa county and the city of San Jose to not sell ammo. Not sure how long this been in place but it was before my time. We have two or three options in the bay area which is Milpitas, Mountain View and Gilroy. Bbecause of that all ammo get snatched up within an hour of being restocked.

Checked Oroville Walmart just now and they had about 10 of the 225 round boxes of .22 golden bullets for $10. They also had a bunch of 50 round boxes of .22, but i didn't pay much attention to what brands. They also had 100 round boxes of 9 mm for $30.
