Post Just returning back after 9months

I was trying to figure whats going on with the sales of MSR and the bullet button. I've tried going thru the forums on here but they're not making sense to me. I'd greatly appreciate the help with this.

The gun owners of this state got screwed back in July. As of 1/1/17, all your legally owned bullet buttoned rifles are considered scary, dangerous, assault weapons that you either need to make featureless, or register by 1/1/18. Also, starting in 1/1/18, you can no longer order ammo online and have to buy at a store who is licensed to deal in ammo, and only after you go through a background check. Starting 1/1/19, you'll need an ammo registration card to buy ammo, and still have to go through the background check

Wow, this place is something. What happens if I refuse to register my bullet button rifle, if I owned one.

The consensus is make it featureless if you don't want to register, of course there is the do not comply people but I'm not sure how tenable an option that is, because it's a felony.

Has anyone been able to confirm if this registration differentiates from the registration of before? Will you be required to keep the BB installed according to the new legislation or can you take it off??

Welcome back OP. No one knows for sure because the new rules haven't been written yet, but probably yes, you can get rid of the BB if you register.

But imho, think long and hard about registration. There are a lot of use and travel restrictions, plus, if left in Kalifronia, only you or the state will own your rifle. The only way to sell or pass it on to someone is if they don't live here.

A viable, if somewhat unsightly option is to make it featurless, or you can install a fixed mag if you really like your pistol grip and flash hider. Out of what's available, I like the frs15 and the Hammerhead with a pinned stock the best.

There's a bunch of info in several threads up in the semiauto rifle section http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/f...splay.php?f=67. If you want to go featureless, look for ideas in the featureless thread in the semiauto photo sub-forum http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=253777.
