Default Asymetrical holes in Surefire MB556k?

Are these holes suppose to be offset? What good does that do?

If you think about it, most rifles recoil up and to the right so those holes would placed in the most efficient location to counter that action.

I could be wrong though.

Helps counteract the torque imparted to the rifle from the bullet being spun down the rifling of the barrel.

It's a great muzzle brake. You'll love it but your range mates won't : )

Really ? so the holes would be in the same place no matter if your a right or left handed shooter ?

It was my understanding that the rifle recoiled up and to the right for a right handed shooters cus there is nothing supporting the rifle on the right side .Your left hand on the left side of the hand guard keeps the rifle from moving in that direction so it natrally rocks to the right . The opposite is true for left handed shooters . Right handed shooters time there breaks at 1-ish o'clock and lefty's time them at 11-ish o'clock .

That's the way I understand it anyways There could be more to it .

i almost went with their brake for 7.62, but ended up getting a different one. people at the range don't seem to like me much when i shoot my rifle next to them, but i'm one that believes that it's kinda silly to cry about guns being loud at a gun range. i will admit that depending on the ammo i use, it can throw some flames out the side, so i can maybe see that as an annoyance.

Mine was blowing and moving the target holder of the guy to my right last time. Was pretty funny actually. He came over and said WTF is that?? I said it's just a 5.56 with a loud flash enhancer (SF MB556K). :P
